Doubt that Santander ever will!
Do not think they even want to get any marks as any negative number will not be large enough.
On Friday-19th I was told that the paper work for CC approved via phone on 9th Feb had been posted on the 15th, today I am told it has been posted today 22nd. This is after the online application that I made middle of Jan was never recorded anywhere in the systems inspite of have a OLA reference number. Go figure....0 -
I applied online on 1st Feb and recieved papers to sign this morning. I have a mortgage with Santander so should be getting the 0% BT fee. Can anyone else who got the 0% fee comment whether their paperwork mentioned 0% fee or 3% fee? Noticed mine says 3% in the summary. I will be ringing to confirm before i sign the papers but i wont get chance to do that until Wed.

My paperwork also referred to 3% fee in the summary but I confirmed that it would be fee free when I phoned for the balance transfer. Since this is Santander though it doesn't guarantee there won't be a fee showing when the first statement arrives :wall:.0

La_escocesa wrote: »Hi everyone,
I wish I'd have read this thread before yesterday! I applied online some time in Jan and didn't get an accept/decline straightaway (they only tell you at the time of app if you do it over the phone) but then got a letter with a 'warm welcome to the Sandander Credit Card' requesting me to sign a credit agreement and post it back in the freepost envelope, which I did the very next day. I waited about a month, expecting my new card any day, and then got a letter on Friday (dated the 11th Feb so over a week later) saying that they were 'unable to proceed' with the application!
So then I spoke to about 10 different people (kept getting put through to 3 different teams and a different person each time and once I even got the MBNA number to call!!) and it turns out that they never received my signed form (does anyone ever get proof of posting a freepost envelope?!) so they abandoned my application! Also, nowhere on the letter does it say that you only have 2 weeks to send the forms back before they abandon your application...
The only way to get it back from 'abandon' stage is to do another application. This went on for another hour or so of telling them that it wouldn't be fair to score my credit rating after only 3 weeks (nothing has changed, i haven't even been paid since and I've not made any payments or even been to the cash point in that time) but I eventually gave in (seemed like the easiest route at the time) and went through the whole application process again...And after 10 minutes of giving all the same details again, it came back as declined!
How frustrating. I've always had a great credit rating (was 999 when I checked Experian last September!) and they had already approved my application.
Glad to hear I'm not the only one who's had !!!! customer service! You'd think they'd want to make it as easy as possible for their existing customers.
Anyone think it's worth trying to apply for any other deals atm (my current 0% deal runs out in March)? Just that I'm imagining that black mark against my name... Arghh. Even more frustrating because I didn't take up a low-rate life-of-balance deal that Virgin offered me because Santander had accepted my application.
Does anyone know the best route for writing a complaint to them? I can't imagine that department is any good either...
I'm confused ...what is the connection between Santander Cards and MBNA ?0 -
So I applied on 21 Jan (against my better judgement as had been turned down for the old zero card from Santender before despite excellent credit ratings).
Had a welcome letter and form to sign and return, which I did. Nothing yet. Really hoping that what happened to La escocesa doesn't happen to me as I've succesfully applied for a few things recently but I think the number of recent applications wouldn't bode well if I had to apply again.
I called them today and they said there was no record of receiving my signed form but they would email the processing department and to call back Thursday. So it's not looking that promising
Is there anything else I can/should do?0 -
I applied on the 4th Feb and have no news or feedback whatsoever! Do you know if it helps to call them? And if so - what number should I call?
Thanks heaps for your help.0 -
I applied on 20 January 2010 - only got the paperwork to sign on 12 February 2010 - signed it & posted it back on 13 February 2010.
Now just waiting.
The only problem I have is that I requested a balance transfer on my on-line application & could do with knowing whether it will happen or not as my Halifax 0% runs out mid March.
Don't particularly mind either way as have it sat in a savings account - but don't want to pay it & then find Santander do the BT!
So not very impressed so far.....0 -
Well.... applied online 4th Jan.
Did my weekly chase up call a week ago and was told forms sent that day.
Still nothing. Its been 7 weeks now.
I couldnt be more angry at the moment...0 -
Im with JANINE, posted acceptance forms back and nothing since0
