Activated card and rang to sort out the second balance transfer....only to find they had no record of the first BT request made as part of the online application. Went through the process again and will probably end up with two transfers to the same card and be in credit. Managed to get confirmation that there is no fee though.

Hm. Nothing wrong with Santander (limit was £9,800 and they have transferred £9,300) but Egg are being a complete pain.

Did the BT last night online; they phoned my mobile when I was at work and I called them back at 2pm.

Ludicrous story about "cut off time is 1.30 so we have cancelled the BT, but it will take 5 days to reverse back to your account and then you'll have to do it again". Come on, get real? If you can't verify by calling the customer by 1.30, how about suspending the transfer not cancelling it!

Staff member says "I'll send you a secure message to confirm whether it's been reversed or not".

Go home, log on - logon blocked claiming "wrong password". (No, it wasn't. This was on the first attempt). Goes into "reset security" mode. Enter security details three times (correct each time, of course). Claims that I'm incorrect.

Call the "password reset" line which is conveniently open 24/7.

After 5 mins' wait, staff member says "Oh, it's been blocked by the security department and can't do anything. Call back 9am tomorrow!".

Severely unimpressed with Egg's performance on this.

Just as well there is no BT Fee involved otherwise that might have caused another problem . Be interesting to hear why they stopped the transfer
  • Can someone post the application number for applying for this card?

  • thanks

Actually logged in this morning and the advert for 0% fees was there so used link and applied online.
  • Applied online January 28th. Still waiting. Called again today and was asked to ring back in 10 days. I'd better get a credit limit of £250,000 for waiting this long...

I applied online also, on 29th Jan, and received a letter dated 09/02 on 15th Feb acknowledging receipt. Called today and was informed of 'provisional acceptance' letter sent out on 15/02. So should expect to get agreement to sign early next week. (I think you just take any guideline 'Sabbeytander' uses and double that figure...)
