Are you sure about that ...I can't see where it says that

Yup, stoozers were all over this as soon as it appeared - already been confirmed by others applying ;)

But if in doubt, apply and see what happens, maybe you'll slip through their checks?

Well I do have an Abbey card but I didn't use it for BT's as they only gave me a credit limit of £800 and have never used it for anyhting else since I got it .
I applied for this new 0% one as I have an Abbey Current Account and appeared to satisfy the requirements . They say they have approved the aplication and sent out the T+C to sign but like others they have not arrived yet .

Be sure and report back how you get on with the 0% balance transfer.

I applied online 20 January and just received the accepted paperwork.I've no idea what credit limit I'm going to get but I asked for a lot:rotfl:I come from the if you dont ask, you dont get school.Purely for stoozing purposes.I'll let you know what I'm offered when Santander finally let me know.

  • Here's the latest update on my application: my balance transfer has now gone through for the whole amount I asked for (just short of £8000), but still don't know my credit limit: I only know about the transfer because I checked the balance of my old card.

That makes it approx 3.5 weeks from application to balance transfer. The card has not yet arrived.

No, if you've already got an Abbey card then you won't get the 0% fee card.

Have you thought about transferring the £500 balance to your Virgin card, then transfer the full Virgin amount onto the now-empty Abbey card a month later? Risk the 0% offer won't be there, but worth considering.

Does the 0% on Virgin still work if it's not when you first get the card then? I thought you had to transfer balances when you first took the card... If not I might try that tomorrow!

Don't think it's worth moving the Virgin balance anywhere at the moment - I only got it in September I think. Plus Abbey have already told me in their letter that this 0% offer is only available until Feb 24th. Thanks for your help though! Think I'm going to call Virgin tomorrow about transferring the Abbey balance to them, then next week (or maybe Feb 23rd!) transfer the Mint balance to the empty Abbey card.

    Thanks for the reply
  • I now have my card and credit limit, so a summary for those considering this for stoozing/ BTs:

Time from application to balance transfer: 3.5 weeks
Time from application to card/ limit receipt: approx. 4 weeks
    Credit limit: 13000
Balance transfer :all of my requested amount

So it has come good in the end, except for 1 final glitch: my name on the card has the last few letters missing (but not on the paperwork)!

But if you have done a BT on to it you won't be using the card will you ?? LOL
  • My wife applied on 19th January so hopefully she should receive some kind of reply through the post by next week if it is taking 3 to 4 weeks.

Slowest reply to a credit card application I have ever known!

I say sack the lot at Santander.

I applied on the 22nd January and received the letter of acceptance along with the credit agreement and direct debit form on 5th February. :T
I won't know the credit limit untill they receive my credit agreement back and send my card out, so I will have to wait to see if they give me the amount I want to balance transfer.
