    I have just come offthe phone from Sky. Told them that they rang me yesterday and spoke to my son but couldn't do anything as he wasn't the account holder. He said what was the deal, and I told him it was free installation, free box and HD subscription for a year. He said yes, that's fine. :eek: :T :D I picked myself up off the floor and arranged a date and time for install and they are coming out next friday.

    Am feeling very very lucky that it went through first time. Not normally as lucky in these kind of things, so am very chuffed.

    So keep on trying and don't give up.

    Update to this!

    Upon Sky's advice to go ahead with the install and if I wasn’t happy exercise my rights and return it, I had all this booked in for Wednesday this week.

    In the mean time I used the Jeremy Darroch email to complain to them and got a response from somebody saying they would look in to it
    Got the box installed on Wednesday and it was a non Sky engineer (some sort of very nice contractor man) and so he installed a brand new box anyway! :rotfl:

    I then got another email back from Sky on Thursday and they've given me my money back for the install, the fee for the box and free HD subs for a year :j

    Two points really - one … I am very very happy with my deal, but two….this is the deal which many many others have got without going through all of this anyway, what are Sky playing at??

    I don't think even Sky know what they are doing.Totally unfair system and they really have messed it up,upsetting an awful lot of people .They should have planned it a lot better than they did!!
  • I called earlier today and they said no. They gave me the offer on the site!

    I have emailed them to see what they can do, otherwise I am moving over.

    Managed to get it down to Free HD box, Free installation and 3 months free sub.

    Being installed next week, so might try the email bit after.

    Just phoned up for my friend, said about having a message left last week for free HD box, install and subs. Guy said well, that would have been the outbound dept, so I just asked why leave a message then? He said he would have to speak to his supervisor but he was sure that there was nothing they could do..... then came back on the phone and said yes thats fine! being installed next weekend, free box, install and subs for a year! result!:j:j:beer:

    You phoned up for your friend? I planned on phoning up for my parents, but have been told that they would ask to talk to the account holder. Was this true for you?

    Also, if I phone up for my parents, what information should I have ready? DOBs? Sky card number? Any help would be appreciated.

    I just said I was her! I had to have the date of birth, telephone number, address, and know what package she had, but that was all!
