SKY HD Offer?

I thought they had discountined the Samsung boxes and were only using the new Amstrad Boxes, double check this with Sky because you may have been given a reconditioned box!

You sure about that because prob about 70% of ppl that have posted on the hukd's forum got the samsung box in the past 2 weeks (myself also).

A very nice person on this forum let me introduce them to Sky on their introduce a friend scheme for a Sky plus box. When my reward online for introduction changed to vouchers, I phoned Sky, asked for an explanation, and they're giving me Sky plus HD box, free installation and free subs for 12 months! Woohoo!

Not sure! but I read on a forum somewhere, that since they have now taken over Amstrad, they wanted to use primarily this model..

Fair enough lol got to admit even if mine were a re-con I wouldn't mind as its shiny, clean, works and does the job its meant to and if it breaks, i'll just moan and get them to replace it...

Installer came today (3rd party outfit) and I got an Amstrad HD box & new dish/lnb reward for my efforts in getting the 12 months free deal :j.
Old box got moved upstairs for multiroom although he never connected it to the phone despite me mentioning it. Told me only main box needed to be connected but I'm sure that's b/s. Think he just ran out of time as it was a bigger than normal job, I'll run a phone line to it myself no biggie. Not gonna risk a second sub being charged if Sky cant call it.
Also he never removed the old dish and cabling either but I might use it for freesat anyway. It's on the back of the house as opposed to the position of the new dish which is front corner. No neighbours close by to complain about more than one dish, in fact I used to have a 1.2mtr motorized dish setup in the garden for many years previously and never a problem.

I called sales and got the offer, just like most ppl on here (so i believe)..

Called today, got absolutely nowhere, just cancelling sky until better deals for HD come up.
