SKY HD Offer?

Not sure what other people are saying/doing to get this to work, but tried the "wife got a call" trick this evening (08442 411 442) and no luck.

Rep insisted that offer ended on 21st March. Offered me nothing other than Sky+HD box with paid install.

As a customer for 9 years with full package and multi-room, not too chuffed

Is it worth persisting?

I called to cancel and they happily gave me the deal, so maybe worth calling cancellations dept instead.

Thanks, will try that. Have to say I'm tempted to cancel anyway - having never managed to benefit from any sort of offer in the past.

I use Virgin for broadband & phone so moving to them for TV wouldn't be the end of the world.

I was of a similar mind, we have never had any offers from them at all and I was quite willing to cancel,

Thanks to everyone on here for the advise and help. I phoned last thurs and was offered free box but £60.00 install. Went through to cancellations and the best they could offer was free box and installation but £10.00 a month subscription. Said I didn't want to pay but he said at the moment that was the best he could offer. He did give me 50% discount for 6 months on the sky subscription (reduces it by £9.50 a month) which I accepted.

Decided I would be brave and call again today, advised the nice gentleman that my husband had taken the call earlier today and they had offered him free box, installation and subscription for 12 months but as he was not the account holder he couldn't authorise it. He didn't bat an eyelid and just started to process my order. He even offered me multiroom for £5.00 a month for 12 months instead of £10.00!!!! I decided not to have that:)

I'm so glad I phoned again tonight.

I tried asking what offers they had, which was the free box, but full installation and £10/month, which I turned down.

I tried the 0800 number again last night, and talked to a very helpful sky representative, who spent 10 minutes looking for the offer to give to me, but couldn't find anything about it, and neither could another colleague she asked. I even mentioned it may have been something to do with receiveing a phone call from sky with the offer, but she couldn't find anything about it.

What time of day are people being successful with this, as could it be the 'evening shift' aren't aware of the offer?

you need to be talking to a certain dept - vaguely think its the outbound team but could be very wrong
