Yes they should. I agree with you. But you're still missing the point. That's up to the managers to supply that information/keys. Not up to the relief postman who is covering whilst the reg postie is off sick/hols etc etc etc. It doesn't make the postie a lazy dipstick cos he aint got that information!4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

you are telling me nothing, you are doing a fine impersonation of foot stomping and petted lip
a postman/woman can only do so much
you are the one who has there knickers twisted quite severely over your much needed Saturday beauty sleep.
when i gave you a possible scenario as to why this happens you feel slights, jibes and name calling over rationalising whats typed in front of you.
i can drop it to monosyllabic if you would prefer?
Ooooooh!!
Jibes and name calling!!!
Look, I'm well within my rights to have my opinion and for years now I have been having the same problems with RM and certain post people! Nothing ever changes and nothing ever will. In the great scheme of things it doesn't really matter to me but seeing that there was a thread complaining about the same issues I've had I thought I'd stick in my pennies worth...alright?
Like it or not...it is as it is!0 -

Ok fair enough, but in that case maybe they should make it the job of the relief postie because one thing for sure is it isn't fair that our post doesn't get delivered because management aren't up to scratch.0 -
err excuse me, u started this name calling bull. Remember the lazy dipsticks comment...
Can't be the job of the relief postie if the original postie is the only one with the keys/codes.... there needs to be more communication coming from management.
but anyhoo
Back to OP. First port of call would be to delivery office manager. Failing this, go to customer service dept. You can always request to have the item redelivered next weekend when it suits you. Recorded items are the only ones with a 7day time scale, but it will advise you of this in the small print of the red card that you got through4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -

nothing wrong with opinions
in my opinion people who cant form and communicate their option with jibes and name calling are pathetic
its an opinion and is open to criticism and where applicable correction/clarification0 -

I think you are as guilty of that....poor you for having to deal with us flat-dwelling types!0 -
Open it all up to fair competition I say. Remove the monopoly but keep the requirement that any business delivering mail in the UK must deliver for the same charge to any address in the UK. That way RM gets competition but a company cannot come in and only do the competitive areas.0

whats the incentive for the companies taking on the obligation?
how do you get over RM already having a network set up over 'new' competitors?0 -

Customers of RM aren't really interested in small issues of covering holidays, business should be as per usual...if it isn't that should be for RM to resolve regardless of what the issue is.
Where I work, it wouldn't be acceptable to say to our clients that their service would suffer because a member of staff was on holiday.0
