Oh so by your reckoning it isn't RM's responsibility to make sure each postman has the right tools in order to do their job, ie open the door to get to the letterboxes? Seeing that keys are supplied to RM for this purpose you would think that RM would have the decency to use them?

Assuming that all households are working during the day, how else would the postman get into the building?

Or is it to be assumed that mail is only delivered when somebody is able to let the postman in?

In which case, for some, post will only be delivered on a Saturday!!

Oh dear  Not thought that one out have we!

where did i say its not RM's resposibility? you are the one denouncing all postmen/women as lazy
as by your own words not using a key is lazy.im showing you a possible and all too regular other side to it

Jomo I have been put on duties where we are never told there are keys for blocks of flats or keypad combination for electronic entry. Does this make me a lazy dipstick?

I know that this isn't allowed in our office. The only packets that are left are ones where a driver knows that the customer already has another package to collect, it's then added to the other package.

I certainly would rather get rid of my packets.

    1. I don't need to stand in the cold writing P739 cards (hell no, I don't have time to write them out for my packets b4 i leave the office)

    2. I don't need to return to the delivery office when I finish my duty or to go to the post office to drop things off.

BTW It's habit for most posties to go straight for the letterbox, as most houses don't have doorbells.

That isn't our fault is it, your employer is at fault for not providing you with the right information, why isn't any initiative ever taken?

Well I can only state where it has happened to me and I can assure you that I have been fuming in the knowledge that I was actually waiting for a specific package, with no other package to collect!!

It might not be your fault personally but I'm well within my rights to have a go at RM, they deserve it!!

you are not having a go at RM,unless you are calling the company lazy?
initiative, nope im just a luddite who can string a few vowels together to get a grunt out.
you are the one with no concept of what goes on, and your rather poor choice of words fills me with the belief i deal with your type every day dealing with the joys of flat dwellers

And I stand by what I say, there is no reasonable excuse for anyone to deliver a note through the door without checking first to see if they are in!

I also consider it lazy to not collate all keys/pass codes etc. before leaving the depot, why is it deemed so difficult a job to make sure you have these things? So that you can deliver the mail - not hard eh?

Really? Aren't I? Postmen represent RM as far as I'm concerned and if they aren't doing their jobs properly then it looks bad on RM....so I suppose it's a go at both!

Well luckily I don't have much dealings with RM, when I'm in I get a note stuck in the letterbox claiming I wasn't in

I'm just telling it how it is...if you don't like it...nothing I can do!

Then complain about Royal Mail and don't call all us hard working posties lazy dipsticks as u did in previous post.

No it isn't your fault if a relief postie doesn't get given the information he needs, is that the relief postie's fault? No, it's the fault of the inept management.

Who do you think stores these keys/passcodes? The management don't want to know!! They don't want more stuff cluttering up their nice tidy offices.

you are telling me nothing, you are doing a fine impersonation of foot stomping and petted lip
a postman/woman can only do so much
you are the one who has there knickers twisted quite severely over your much needed Saturday beauty sleep.
when i gave you a possible scenario as to why this happens you feel slights, jibes and name calling over rationalising whats typed in front of you.
i can drop it to monosyllabic if you would prefer?

    :wall::wall:

I'm sorry but if a block of flats have supplied keys for entry purposes then RM should be using them!! It isn't rocket science!
