Has anyone complained to Royal Mail?

If so, what did they do about it?
For the third time in as many weeks, our lazy postie has posted a 'Sorry, you were out' card through the letterbox when someone has been in. They don't bother to knock or ring the (clearly visible) doorbell. For the third time, I now have to wait 48 hours for the privilege of going to collect my item myself; a good 2 miles walk from where I live. I also work miles away and have to be out of the house very early all of next week, which means that I won't be able to collect the item until next weekend. It may have been sent back by that point.
Has anyone ever complained about this? How did you go about it? What was done by RM about it? I'm pretty sure I'm not alone here.

I have complained about it and got nowhere. They do the same in my area, and when I once chased the postie down the road (I was in the hallway at the time), he admitted he didn't have the parcel on him anyway; they do this a lot around here. They also shove special/recorded delivery items into our communal mailbox without a signature. Anyway, I went to the sorting office and the reception guy was nice about it, but after a week waiting for the promised reply, I went back as I hadn't heard anything and the manager himself came down and accused me of lying, shouted and screamed at me and just walked off when I was talking to him.0

Our regular RM van driver will not ring the door bell. We have a porch with a glass door which he taps lightly on, but unfortuately this cannot be heard in the house.
I've asked him personally if he can ring the bell, but he said he never rings bells as sometimes they don't work. I've even demonstrated that the bell does work to him, but he still refuses to ring it.
I've made verbal and written complaints at the sorting office when I've collected my parcels, asked the regular foot postman if he could have a friendly word, and complained through the online system many times, but the man still refuses to ring the door bell.
I'm at a complete loss as to what else I can doHere I go again on my own....0 -

are you in a flat or a main door?0 -
Our postie regularly used to post pre-written cards through the door, hidden among the rest of the post. I opened the door to him one day, and asked him for the parcel. It was in his car at the end of the estate.0

I complained about an item that went missing in the mail. The whole process was awful - you had to complete an online form with choices and tick boxes that didn't allow you to properly explain the problem - very frustrating and nothing came of it. I sometimes feel like Royal Mail is trying to destroy itself and its reputation from within on purpose.[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica]

The same has happened to me on numerous occasions. I live in a block of flats and once they even left a to sign for parcel on top of the letterboxes and then failed to close the communal front door properly! Fortunately the parcel wasn't stolen!
Basically RM are carp and need a good kick up the backside!0 -
To add to this, RM have a key to let themselves in to our block which they forget on many occasions and buzz residents to get access (normally on a Saturday when we want a lie in) and have even lost the keys in the past.
Dipsticks the lot of them!0 -

I live in a flat, but it has it's own main door.
It's sheer laziness. This happens time and time again. What's even worse is that the 'serial number' on the card is actually illegible so I can't arrange a redelivery.0 -
Well, I managed to get through via telephone and complained. The girl on the phone was really helpful. She's arranged a redelivery for Saturday. We'll see what happens.0
