Well excuse me for pointing out that their job is to deliver mail, not to log who is at home or at work etc. etc.
Maybe this is ok for the window cleaner for when he goes to collect his payments but the postman shouldn't presume somebody isn't there to collect!!0 -
To add to this, RM have a key to let themselves in to our block which they forget on many occasions and buzz residents to get access (normally on a Saturday when we want a lie in) and have even lost the keys in the past.
Dipsticks the lot of them!
they? who are they?
you are talking about human beings
i think you will find the regular postie will retain the key rather than a free for all as thats how keys go missing0 -
now lets balance it out with the large majority of tenements i deal with
so many times i hear i was in blah blah blah yet it was me who was leaning on the buzzers to get in the stair to attempt delivery the day before0 -
I will just say our postie is one of the best we have ever had. Nothing is too much trouble, he smiles and says good morning, and if you are not at home he will bring parcel back the next day. Not all posties are bad. So many thanks to our postie.
LOl no beofre you ask I dont work for RM.RIP TJ. You my be gone, but never forgotten. Always in our hearts xxxHe is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.0 -

Sorry, was I supposed to call them by name? Ooops, I don't know it
So you know that for sure then, regular postie with key?
Why is it then that about a year ago, I found out that our communal door key had got lost and I only found this out after I rang them up to complain about the fact the postie was buzzing all the flats to gain entry every morning for about a week!
The proper thing to do would have been to admit what had happened and ask for a new key to be cut but oh no!
Plain lazy!0 -

who is lazy? the postie who could be stuck on the duty and doesnt even know theres meant to be a key?0 -

Lazy for assuming there is nobody in and leaves a card in the letterbox for one and if they don't know that there's a key then RM's training must be pretty poor as well!
lol training
typical RM scenario
manager:this is your walk
any keys?
manager: probably,check in the cupboard
presented with loads of keys with no tags/numbers
which ones which?
manager:dunno
manager:ask(insert name of postie who wont be working that day)
repeat for 100's of dutys all over the country every day0 -
Jomo I have been put on duties where we are never told there are keys for blocks of flats or keypad combination for electronic entry. Does this make me a lazy dipstick?
I know that this isn't allowed in our office. The only packets that are left are ones where a driver knows that the customer already has another package to collect, it's then added to the other package.
I certainly would rather get rid of my packets.
1. I don't need to stand in the cold writing P739 cards (hell no, I don't have time to write them out for my packets b4 i leave the office)
2. I don't need to return to the delivery office when I finish my duty or to go to the post office to drop things off.
BTW It's habit for most posties to go straight for the letterbox, as most houses don't have doorbells.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -

Oh so by your reckoning it isn't RM's responsibility to make sure each postman has the right tools in order to do their job, ie open the door to get to the letterboxes? Seeing that keys are supplied to RM for this purpose you would think that RM would have the decency to use them?
Assuming that all households are working during the day, how else would the postman get into the building?
Or is it to be assumed that mail is only delivered when somebody is able to let the postman in?
In which case, for some, post will only be delivered on a Saturday!!
Oh dearNot thought that one out have we!
