This week I've taken Ds1 out of his pull ups at night as he kept waking up dry so I assumed he was ready. It's not going great so far and I've no idea if I'm doing it right. I have been waking him up at around 10 and taking him to the loo but I've just read if you do this they get used to weeing half asleep so it makes it worse...
I think it doesn't help that they have a huge cup of hot chocolate at bed time - then finish it and ask for more drinks (more an attention thing, though DS1 shouting that he's thirsty is hard to ignore!). Must try to limit drinks at bedtime...
Any tips anyone?June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Ragz why not move hot chocolate to a little bit earlier? Fluid takes about 20-25 minutes to get from mouth to bladder, so if they have hot chocolate and then put on jammies/brush teeth/faff about a bit it should be just about ready to come out the other end right before they hop into bed.

Thanks I will try that tonight. The thing is they both are used to havnig a drink to lie down with (a bad habit I need to get them both out of) and if I do this they will scream for millk/juice/water when I turn the lights out. I can stand it but OH thinks I'm being cruel if they cry about being thirsty (I know they aren't!)June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Hi I was thinking aboyt this very thing this morning. My ds is just 2 and has a bath, change for bed then has a cup of milk as he lies in bed having a story, we then clean his teeth in bed and he lies down and goes to sleep. I am thinking about giving him his milk before he goes up to have a bath because then when he is potty training it will be a better habit to be in so hopefully we might have dry nights quicker? I wonder how it will go though? We were out late visiting family the other day we changed him into his PJ's while out and gave him milk thinking he would fall asleep on the way home in the car and we could carry him into bed but he didn't fall asleepand then wanted more milk when in bed. His nappies are so wet in the morning I can not see how he will have a dry night when potty training without getting up several times a night  oh what I have to look forward to!
Anyway, I haven't posted much but I am feeling more organised that I was. I have been making small changes each week and I have decided I will make one new mini change each week and try and keep doing them. It is working so far
Week one: I decided that all the beds should be made before DH gets in from work. I know I should already do this but I didn't but for 3 weeks we have had made bedsIt only takes seconds - not sure why I was so bad at this before. Although I must admit the beds have only been made at a few minutes before DH walks in some days but they have been done before he walks in
.
Week two: I have decided since my dh did the ironing while he was on his xmas holiday and he found the bottom of my ironing basket  I should really keep on top of it. I have been doing a little bit of ironing a couple of nights a week and I feel so less stressed knowing there is no huge pile for me to tackle and I don't have to iron stuff in the morning to wearSo for 2 weeks I have kept on top of the ironing! Yay! never thought I would be saying that!
Week three: I have decided my kitchen cupboards need a good sort out but all of them need doing which is a bit over whealming as I have alot of cupboards! It is not an urgent job but is a horrible, time consuming one so I have decided to do one cupboard a weekOne cupboard tackled this week and I have already planned which one is for next week.
I am so pleased with myself. These are all little changes that have made a big difference to the way I organise my day etc. I feel a bit of weight has been lifted....if you all understand? And they are things I will keep up with. I have to decide what next weeks change will be. Any ideas?SAHM Mummy tods (born Oct 2007) and dd (born June 2010)0 -
I have no tips for the dry at night stuff, I suppose these things just work out right in the end themselves (?)
I know what you mean about a weight lifted. It's like that with my lists - I feel I have control all of a sudden.

Have put on a shocking amount of weight with this pregnancy, luckily I'm tall so I carry it well but I'm dreading what I'll be left with when baby comes out. I plan to go straight back to weight watchers asap... I think that's where the problem started though as I was doing it when I got pregnant so I went from eating really well to thinking - sod it I'm pregnant I'll eat what I want. Which just means more hard work now, thankfully will be breastfeeding so that'll make it easier but I reckon I'll have at least 4 stone to lose, if not more :eek:June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

- clean out handbag
- 1/2 hour exercise
- [STRIKE]ring hairdresser and make appointment[/STRIKE] did but she wasn't in
I found 2 unused pregnancy tests in a drawer yesterday, what shall I do with them? I have absolutely no need for them but they are quite expensive - is Freecycle a no no???0 -

Normally I say, Do you want to do the laundry while I do the dishes, or would you prefer to do the dishes? That way he thinks he's getting a choice and doesn't feel like he's the only one doing the work. Sneaky but it works....Dry bed this morning from Ds1, I woke him at 10 and sent him to the loo (making sure he was properly awake) then he woke at 3am with Ds2 so he went then too.

Yay dry beds! I put on 20kg (44lbs, or 3 stone 2lbs) while pregnant, and I'm only 5'2  Have about half a stone to drop, still but the rest of it seems to have fallen off.
Today's plan:
Tidy a bit in computer room
Repair damage to my paper that Word ate
Eat some leftovers to get rid of the excess crap in the house
Put away the laundry
Do some dishes
Get rid of TV and books that are waiting to be taken awayOrganised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

I don't see why not, if the mods don't apporve they'll let you know. Otherwise do you have any friends/relatives who'll use them?
I usually keep them as someone is bound to have a need for one sooner or later!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500
