good luck! hope you arent waiting too long! mine is due next saturday, and I am pooing a brick at the thought of it

No-that's what it feels like when you actually have it! Good luck to all the preggers ladies, hope you have easy births-soon! I was a midwife in another lifetime and saw very few babies deliver on their expected date! TBH most women were very inaccurate with their LMP date so it had little chance of being accurate anyway. Of my 3,2 were born prem and the last was a week late!
Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!

sillybillyme - welcome! I tend to pop in and out, depending on what's going on here, but there is a lot of good info that everyone is bringing in to the thread. If I may ask, I registered DS for school, but this is our first time dealing with school stuff in years (and years and years LOL) and I'm not horribly familiar with it all again. Have the placements for school already come out or are you referring to something like nursery? Sorry for the confusion - it's early and I haven't had my coffee intake yet either!

We have had the unfortunate experience of headlice and nits here. *sob* I absolutely hate them! But the initial shampooing and combing has been done for a couple days now. It's just the follow up from here on in. I've heard that there are some shampoos with teatree oil that help prevent them?? If anyone has any info on that, I'd love to hear it. I think I'll be going in to get my hair cut a bit shorter soon. If we have to be dealing with this type of thing regularly once school starts, I want my hair to be a manageable length. I know that when DD came home with it from school when she was young, I could have cried, as her hair was down to her waist. It was not a fun experience.

I think I'll be spending some time today doing some catch up stuff around the house. Between the shampooing and combing (and the resulting headache), I haven't got much done other than the basics, and much of that was actually done by DH last night while I was sleeping off the headache!

Ive still not tackled my bedroom, so thats on the agenda today. Along with cleaning out the rabbit and the fish and a quick dust. I will end up hoovering the kitchen again after cleaning out the rabbit as the sawdust gets everywhere

I got my organised mum diary on Sat. So far ive went through it and stuck school holiday and birthday stickers in it. I will try and start the habit of writing everything in it and looking at it first thing in the morning. That way I wont miss payments due or appointment. Otherwise it is an expensive diary that sits gathering dust all year (again).

Hope you all have a good day.

Baby due today - has anyone ever given birth on their due date??[/QUOTE]

Me :D. baby was due on the 17th of August and waters broke at 1 am that morning. dd was born at 9.30am.
I was late by 4 days with ds, mind you he arrived in an hour from first proper contraction and in the middle of the bombing thing at Glasgow airport. They took the burns victom /terrorist to the hospital in Paisley I was on my way to almost at the same time. The police told me to go the Southern in Glasgow, there was no way id make it, I told them i was having the baby NOW and unless they wanted to deliver it in the car they'd better let us in, and they did, ds was born 20 mins later.

Sillybillyme - welcome to the thread. Good for you trying to be organised in you situation it can't be easy. Similar thing happened to my MIL with her first husband, he just bu**ered off one day leaving her with 2 little ones and not even enough money for a loaf of bread! What a wan*er!

Nic - what a great story to tell your Ds when he's older! And his b'day is the day before mine ;)
Speaking of diaries I still don't have a calendar yet! Better put that on my To Do list!

Triggles - In my experience the best way to deal with nits is to comb childs hair every other day at least to keep on top of them. No point using expensive nasty chemicals when they will go straight back to school and catch them again a few days later! I've never found the tea tree stuff to work, it would if you used neat oil and a lot of it but then you rpoor kids would stink!
I just keep my sons' hair short and keep an eye on them but when I have a girl I know it'll be a lot harder. My Mum used to have a nightmare with my sisters with nits...

DH is home today, sorting car things out. Ds1 is at Preschool and Ds2 is home with me (both of us still in PJs!). Need to do some batch cooking if I feel up to it, should really go to the bank too.
Dh wants me to go to the post office and post his parcel because he says he doesn't know how...
    Should go calendar hunting.

    To Do List
    Get dressed and dress Ds2!
    Bank
    POst office
    Buy calendar
Cook dinner - pork and cider casserole
    Make curry sauce
    Post HB letter

Just realised we need to be applying for schools soon so will have to google that later. Apparently we should have had stuff through the post but it's been delayed...
Don't know which school to apply for, prob the closest I guess...

  • Hello Everyone - and welcome to anyone new - I really enjoy this thread and I do find it helps to motivate me - we all seem to be in the same boat.

Slow day today - just keeping on top of school paperwork and activities seems to be taking up all my time at the mo.

Still am doing two kitchen drawers in a minute - all to freecycle I think.

Hugs to Ragz - and fab quick labour vibes x
