Week 3/52 - Theme - Organising Tips:
1. Your best tips for organising the home:
Make sure everyone has a say and everyone gets involved. The more people who input and agree, the more likely it will remain organised.
2. Your best tips for organising your time:
Can't comment as it's a case of 'as it happens' here. I work from home, so as long as I get it done, it doesn't matter when it's done. A case of 'when it's most convenient'
3. Your best tips for organising children:
Give them a voice (if they have one) Include them in as many decisions as possible. If they feel part of the organising, they'll take more pride in organising themselves and will look to you for guidance when needed.
4. Your best tips for organising finances:
I don't spend much on myself as my motto is when you have children, they are the most important thing in your life. Again it's down to getting them involved. Make them pro-active in shopping/shopping lists, teach them the value of money from an early age and discuss any financial decisions with them (why they have that top and not the other more expensive one!)
5. Any other tips
As above. Keep the children involved, teach the early how to be organised, tidy and aware, but also let them be children. Make sure they have routines - bedtime, meals, tidying of rooms etc.
The above is aimed more at the older child.0 -

Hi, thanks for the welcome and tips. I like the wicker basket for hubbies mail, it wouldnt be long in overflowing mind you , Its a start though and he can stop blaming me when he cant find stuff.
I also try and do as much as I can while the kids are eating brekkie, so I load and unload the washing machine, clean out the rabbiut and the cat. I also get ds to dust the lower surfaces in the livingroom (he likes doing it) .
As I said its the over all junk that accumulates in the corners, hall and top of the stairs, especially since xmas and the house is fit to bursting with toys. I will make more of an effort to give more to charity or Freegle.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Week 3/52 - Theme - Organising Tips:
1. Your best tips for organising the home:
Have a thorough clean and then go from there doing a bit every day - keep on top of it or it will get on top of you!
Declutter regularly.
Storage boxes that fit under sofas
Ikea have some and they are perfect for small toys - cars, figures etc.
2. Your best tips for organising your time:
Prioritise - and yes playgroups and you time count as time well spent
It's amazing what you can get done in the time it takes to boil the kettle ie quick wipe down, dishwasher, load washer - once you start you'll want to finish
ical on the mac - love it! I also carry a diary in my bag.
3. Your best tips for organising children:
erm.............shout a lot lol
I find structure and routine works - if they know to expect to do homework when they get home they get on and do it. Also a little bride helps - i give £1 when they get to the end of each homework book. I also pay them for little chores - balling socks for example they get 5p per pair
Praise
4. Your best tips for organising finances:
Oh eck - i use a spreadsheet to do a budget but it cant stop me over spending unfortunately!
5. Any other tips
i'm finding baby groups really good at the moment as baby has fun and it also tires him out for a good sleep in the aft.MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

Week 3/52 - Theme - Organising Tips:
1. Your best tips for organising the home:
Have as little in it as possible! And try and make sure the right things are in the right rooms when first trying to get organised. File paperwork on the day it comes through the door.
2. Your best tips for organising your time:
Use your timer! I sound a bit flylady obsessed but I don't fully follow her rules. You (well I) can be looking at that washing up all day and getting grumpy about it and feeling overwhelmed. I set my timer for 10 minutes and do only that and 9 times out of 10 I've done the lot and wiped the kitchen down too.
3. Your best tips for organising children:
Give them a routine and ownership of that routine. Write it down or use pictures for them to follow. Try and put a treat at the end for them. If my son gets into his pyjamas in a reasonable time he can watch Spongebob in his room before sleep, for example. He also has other little jobs around the house and I use the timer for things like the Wii so he is not on it all day. He even sets the timer himself now.
4. Your best tips for organising finances:
Internet banking is the best thing in the world. Pay bills as soon as you can. I put any seemingly spare money in another account and only keep a little in my current account and transfer back when there is a bill or direct debit. It stops me feeling rich when I'm at the cashpoint when in fact I may have 5 bills coming in at once.
5. Any other tips
It's never going to be perfect. Don't burn yourself out. And make time for yourself.0 -
Theme - Organising Tips:
1. Your best tips for organising the home:
A place for everything and everything in its place. I try to maintain a one-in-one-out rule, so if I buy something I get rid of something else, even if that something is a bag of rubbish or recycling. And I try to keep organised rather than get organised.
2. Your best tips for organising your time:
My daily to do list as of recently was getting overwhelming, so I started putting just 5 items on it and prioritising them. That way, if I get them all done I can be satisfied with myself, but if they're done earlier I can take on bonus tasks and feel smug that I've done more. Other than that I recommend an organiser.
3. Your best tips for organising children:
She's only five months old. I hope she'll get more amenable to organising...
4. Your best tips for organising finances:
Budget and stick to the budget!
5. Any other tips
Don't stress when things go wrong - the more you worry about what you didn't do, the less time you have for doing the next thing.

I have a dilema - do I wash his clothes or not? The washing basket is totally full with clothes from ''no where'' and sticking out the lid

Mmm I am thinking let him take his dirty washing with him - he's obviously been storing it up. I'll say nothing about it.
Going to read back on your tips.
Been thinking will have to add front and back garden into the to do lists soon - I need to get rid of the pond and have the gardens very low maintenance.50p/£24.00 Xmas 2010:rudolf:
