  • Morning everyone

I think my lot are beginning to notice - I have assigned everyone a drawer in the utility room for gloves, hats, scares etc and after dog walk today I peeped through door and tey all put them away in their own place wiuthout me asking - woo hoo! Dog even has his own drawer with lead, brush, poo bags, ball etc in - no excuse for Mr HG not to go and pick up the poo now!

Homework driving me insane today - roll on half term I say........

Done 15 mins in wardrobe and sorted into work/skirts/casual going out etc and looks much better.

  • hey everyone! hope you have all had a lovely weekend so far.

I am hanging my head in shame :o i hardly done anything yesterday :o
i woke up feeling really ill (still not feeling too great) done a few loads of washing and then fell asleep on sofa till 5pm:eek: DH was really sweet and looked after the kids all day and sorted them out with tea then put them to bed at 6
then i decided to spend some much needed time with hubby, so we sat down and had a cuddle watching movies all night, but i think we really needed that time together. it's been so manic in this house that we are all constantly doing things and never get that closeness IYSWIM?

today is going to be a little more productive i am certain of it, back to work tomorrow so i NEED to get things done!
Can you see the mountains through the fog?

  • sugarspun and I heart2£coins - the joy of child birth can't believe I am going through it all again so relaxed.
I went to a parent craft day last time, so funny they were promoting the natral 3 stage of labour. I will be writting white as its TMI so just highlight it to read.

I was gonna give it a go but when moved hosptals spoke to a midwife who said keep an open mind and do you fancy pushing for an other hour after you had your baby? just to have the afterbirth?. thank goodness I had the injection I nearly bleed to death after I had the afterbirth.I woke after to find a cleaner srubbing the wall over a meter from my bed. I still laugh when I think it was a good idea to have a natral 3rd stage!!:rotfl:and the woman who said i didn't have a natral/normal birth:rotfl::rotfl:what normal in childbirth?. they don't make your kids line up on the first day in rows as who was breast feed, who was bottle, who was c-section etc. I have such a pregnancy brain of subject yet again lol

Didn't do much only washing 2loads today but 2mow have something on so can't do anything else. so need to do some ironing and put a huge clothes basket away. see you 2mow for the mad mondays lisits!1

Hi, can I join? i am a sahm to dd (4) and ds(2). I just dont seem to be getting anywhere. My house is full of clutter. I manage to keep the living room tidyish, with the exception of a few toys that stay in there. But theres is piles and piles of stuff that needs sorting. My oh is terrible for leaving his mail lying around, it would lie there forever if I didnt pick it up. In the end there is piles of mail that i have no idea where to put and then oh is moaning as he is trying to find something and ive moved it (usually I cant remember where ive put it).
Ive orderdd one of those organised Life diraries, hopefully I can get into a routine. My dd goes to nursery for 2 1/2 hours every morning and ds 1 morning at the moment. But instead of housework I find myself enjoying metime and end up on here or watching Wanted down under.

I am not a lazy person and love it when the house is sparkling, but I just dont know where to start sometimes.
Im hoping I can pick up some tips from you guys, and to try and contribute instead of lurking. I suppose I really should be putting washing in the machine at the moment.

  • Hi Nic and Welcome to the thread - I love the time mine are at school for me time as well - think that's perfectly normal of us. However I try and bargain with myself - I will do 15 mins on here and then do a couple of jobs - I bring down washing basket and load machine when I come down to make a coffee - unload dishwasher when am waiting for toast etc. How about getting wicker basket on table for hubbys mail - you have somewhere to put it and he always knows where to find it. I also at the moment am trying to get a bag or more a day out of the house either recyling or charity - it all helps. Good Luck.

Oh I have cats by the way! It's getting to be more watching their safety nowadays. She doesnt half grab hold of their fur and pulls their skin up. Poor things, maybe i'll put them in the cot with a net up !
    lol
I really want a cat but Ds2 "loves" animals and gets a little overexcited with them. Think I'd have the same problem! My Mum has a kitten that runs away the second he comes in the flat and a ferret that chases him around!

    Still no baby...
Ds2 at home today while Ds1 does rising 5s at Preschool, got Ds2 colouring pictures of stuff I print off the net so keeping him busy for a bit. Then I must pop to co-op and then get the Kitchen tidy.

Taken Ds1 out of his night-time pull up, first night I woke him up at 9 for a wee then he was dry right through. Second night same but he was wet in the morning and it hadn't woken him up. Third night same but he woke up wet at 11 and got up...
Any tips greatly appreciated as I have no idea what I'm doing!
Oh, and - are you meant to put them in pants with PJs?

  • Hi everyone!

Sorry not been posting much, I have been reading but not posting lol.

Had a very organised day yesterday:
tidied bedroom, organising all drawers and decluttering every drawer, basket, bag etc even my make up had a huge bag of rubbish, another bag to sell and everything else was put away neatly, also did this to the en-suite and have already done this to the nursery!
Placed an approved food order for lunchbox stuff for DH and some storecupboard bits.

Nic2075 - I have an organised mum diary and it is AMAZING, has a mini phone book, space for weekly routines, a weekly diary for up to 7 people, weekly meal plans, monthly to do lists and notes, perforated shopping lists etc etc SO GOOD.
I use a coloum of the diary next to the meal plan for budgets so I know what I have spend and what I have left to spend and also a coloum for work/paperwork I have to do (I do bookkeeping at home).

  • Week 3/52 - Theme - Organising Tips:

    1. Your best tips for organising the home:
Everything in its place & a place for everything - you can't put things away if there is no home for it.
Tidy up the kitchen & living room every evening without fail - tomorrow is a lot easier with a clear sink and floor of living room.
Try to have a minimal amount of 'things' on work surfaced etc, the less that is out the less to be cleaned/cleaned around.
    2. Your best tips for organising your time:
Organised mum diary is the best I have ever used - what ever diary you use - USE IT - only have one diary for everything work, home, kids etc if you use it properly it will be your bible.
Use a timer - when you are facing a job you hate or a mammoth task just do 15 mins no more and use a timer to make sure you do just that.
    3. Your best tips for organising children:
Only have a 9 week old baby but so far my tips are:
Always have 1 open and 1 stored - formula milk, nappies, medicines etc it is suprising how quick you get through stuff and is good to know that you don't have to rush out cause you have ran out of food/nappies!
Especially if you are having more children invest in some medium size plastic tubs and as you buy/get given clothes put them in the correct tub (newborn & 0-3, 3-6, 6-9, 9-12 etc), We have a newborn & 0-3 tub which is being filled with clothes worn but now too small and the other tubs are clothes too big).
Re-use formula tins for everything lol - saves time finding things if they are all in there own dedicated tins.
    4. Your best tips for organising finances:
Have a budget! We have one that balances back to zero - i.e. list all income, list all expenses, list all debt payments or savings and then adjust the last two to make the balance 0.00.
If possible pay bills the day they arrive, means you don't forget incurring charges and often receive an early payment discount.
    5. Any other tips
Can't remember who posted the tipe re over door shoe organisers for hats/gloves this is so simple but so good!!
Again a very simple tip but it works, do what you need to do for the day whilst kiddies are asleep or having quiet time during the day and the rest of the day turn TV off so you have quality time together.

  • Well today is all about looking after ill daughter and upset daughter who is not at school, so having to look at ways of complaining against school teacher.

Partner is home, so she's very kindly doing other things that need doing, although I feel guilty as it's my job to look after my girls and I am having a mid life crisis anyway.

Hope everyone is having a productive day.
