I remember when my sister was about 7 & I about 13, she got a new most wanted prezzie on most girls list of a Barbie house. They must have spent it all on her, because I got a little address book & diary set (you know covered in flock), the sort of thing you would see in a pound shop now.

They won't forget it. She will reap what she sows.

    I think it's downright despicable!

Maybe next year she'll find that all that the elder 2 have on their list is to be with their dad! (if he's about)

Unfortunately their dad died a few years so that wouldnt be an option for them.

Yes I know, but it really does break my heart thinking of what it could do to them in the future emotionally. I will have a serious think because maybe she just doesnt realise how mean it is

  • did you say it's a friend, I have forgotten? If so then it is okay for you to raise the subject - that is what good friends are for.

Do the older children get gifts from their dad's side of the family? just wondering if it will balance out somehow. Or perhaps the older ones already have everything they want/need?

Just trying to see both sides, because this year my 13 year old only has 4 presents to open off santa (and 2 of them are clothes and chocolate) while my 4 year old has a big pile of presents. He doesn't need anything and still has presents from the previous 3 xmas piled up untouched, he simply does not want 'stuff'. (one of his presents is a PS3 though, so he's not hard done by, but an outsider might think his tiny pile of gifts suggests that we love the little one more than him)

A friend of mine has 3 children, 2 by a previous relationship(he died) and one with current partner. Youngest is 5 older 2 are 10 and 11yrs.
I am really upset for the older 2 as they are treated differently to the youngest who is spoiled rotten.
I have just spoken to the mum now and she said the older 2 arent getting much for xmas, because she wants to get the youngest everything he has asked for.
They havent got alot of money but surely it should be shared equally:mad:

personally i think that is awful they should have the same, as a mother i couldnt even think of doing something like that it would be like me saying i love one more than the other, i feel sorry for the children
