Should you have not received your knitted character due to the weather or xmas postage by 31/12/09 please drop us an email and we’ll chase it up for you.
i have an email from them stating it was supposed to be posted last monday tracked delivery for tuesday, if it has no tracking no how are they going to chase it up?
Very very poor customer service. Why give a guarantee if you can't keep it? Yes the weather was bad BUT if they had posted them out special delivery on the 21st like they said they were, then we all would have received them on the 22nd as promised. My son was expecting santa to leave it in his stocking - it was the only thing on his Christmas list and he cried when it wasn't there. Having it delivered after Christmas isn't really going to have the same impact.DFW £11,086.35 (Apr 09) £629.35 (Jul 10):jproud to be dealing with my debts0 -
I'm sorry for those who were not happy with this company. "harryhillknittedcharacter.com" but I have to say I was very happy with my order. Yes, admittedly, the delivery was delayed but the company responded immediatey after I'd emailed them updating me all th time and in fairness to them, the bad weather disrupted postage deliveries. I was fortunate to receive my knitted character before Christmas (just) and I thought the product was knitted beautifully. My son was very pleased with it so I was lucky and have to give credit where it is due. Personally, I would recommend this company.0

Dropping them an email seems to be a pointless exercise, they have not responded to anything that I have sent since the 'guaranteed delivery' one on the 20th. In that said email I was told that I would be personally sent a tracking number, but....nothing. I find it an insult that they put a message like 'drop us an email and we'll chase it up for you' when they aren't even acknowledging any emails sent to them. I'm glad that a few people were lucky enough to get this item but I'm saddened to hear of stories such as Helen1965, it's a very, very poor service.0 -

Yes you were "lucky" but a company offering a "guaranteed delivery service" shouldn't just leave it down to luck, they should actualy use a guaranteed delivery service as promised, instead of relying on the ordinary christmas post which everyone knows is not guaranteed.
I would probably be quite happy too if my knitted character had arrived... but it didn't, so I'm not. I too was emailed all the time with updates, but they turned out to be empty promises and I spent 3 days waiting in for a parcel that never arrived and could not be tracked because my emails asking for a tracking number were met with a stock automated response, and at the end of the day I had a very upset little boy to console on Christmas morning because santa didn't bring him the one and only thing he had asked for.

I've just been over to their site and have been thinking about the updated message;
"Should you have not received your knitted character due to the weather or xmas postage by 31/12/09 please drop us an email and we’ll chase it up for you"
So it looks like they're blaming the weather or the post service. I've discussed this in previous posts so I wont rehash it, however, there must be some serious failings if a 'guaranteed next day' service delivers items posted on the 21st on the 31st. That is of course unless we have been lied to and these items were not shipped this way. Certainly this would explain why nobody is willing to provide me with a tracking number or respond to any of my emails.
At the end of the day, all I want is a plausible explanation and an apology/admission that the item was not guaranteed delivery as promised. If somebody gets a response from them, please do let us know.0 -
EDIT - forum wouldn't let me post links as a newby so please google "report a scam" to find the Consumer Direct website.
Hello,
Yes I'm another mug who got ripped off and had to cope with a disappointed child on Christmas day.
I don't believe anyone has actually genuinely received a knitted character from this site: hhkc.myshopify.com or harryhillknittedcharacter.com (both BMG Burp). In fact I suspected this was a scam from early on when I received an acknowledgment of my order (placed in November) by recorded delivery. The Paypal shipping status was immediately updated to 'dispatched' although of course the item had not been sent. The actual letter smelt slightly of women's perfume - and I quite literally smelt a rat...but to my cost I thought I was being cynical and waited.
After the now well documented catalogue of pathetic fictional excuses, I registered a Paypal dispute. Although nobody from BMG had the courtesy to reply to any of my emails after giving me the usual "I'll personally send you your tracking number cobblers" (which of course they haven't) they were quick enough to provide "proof of postage" to Paypal. Guess what?....the tracking number of the their "proof of postage" was the tracking number on the acknowledgment of order letter they sent me. Scam? Damn right.
I've already reported this to Consumer Direct and the OFT and I would encourage everyone else who's been ripped off to do the same.
In their latest work of fiction they're blaming the post/weather which is total rubbish and every day their sites remain open more people are being conned. Can any MSE experts comment on how to get the police involved to get this SHUT DOWN? I don't care about the money I lost, but the thought that every day their site remains online they are raking in hundreds of pounds and ripping off more people including children makes me feel physically sick.
Thanks.

I ordered my character from harryhillknittedcharacter.com on 2/12 I received all those emails re delivery. I thought this was a scam but found forum on mail online and saw some people were receiving them. Anyway I eventaully did receive character normal post 24/12. Packaging small plastic bag postage £1.28. So not quite what was said! Character much smaller than I expected but maybe this was my fault for not reading all info about it. Colours also not quite right but we put him on top of the Christmas tree and it was well into Christmas Day PM when my granddaughter spotted it and we heard the squeals of delight. She said it was one of the best presents so in the end it all worked out. Sorry for those who did not receive in time for Christmas.0

I can quite understand your anger and disappointment, but are you seriously suggesting that all on here (me included) are lying about receiving the item?
Yes, it's bad service, yes it's unacceptable, but the items are real and some of us did receive them.
Why do you and others persist in calling us liers?
No, just possibly that the people who actually got them ordered from a different company which is why I specified the websites.
I'm not suggesting anyone is lying and I'm glad you received yours but my whole experience with this company stinks.0 -
I definitely ordered my characters from harryhillknittedcharacter.com. a company based in Cardiff. They came just in time for Christmas, I was one of the lucky ones. My heart goes out to the those whose children were upset on Christmas Day and this is far worse than losing the money. I don`t think they are scamming people but they have taken orders that they could not fulfil in time for Christmas which is just not acceptable.
For the record my son thought the character was cute, but he asked me where I bought it and if he could spend his Christmas money from his nan on buying one that looked like the Harry Hill knitted character. While I am very grateful I got mine I would not recommend this company to anyone for both their customer service and the fact that what they are selling is not as described.....`As seen on TV` my a***
I hope those fo you who have reported them to google and TS get some satisfaction.0 -
You won't get one that looks exactly like the one on TV though. Even the ones from Cloth Ears, who supply the TV show, are only marginally bigger than the one you have now. The one used on the TV show is much bigger than any that are available to buy.
Then the ad saying 'As seen on TV' is somewhat misleading. I wouldn't expect it to be an identical replica but I'd expect it to be the same colour and general shape even if a bit smaller. But then I'd expected to actually receive it so perhaps my expectations are a bit high for this company to handle.0
