im going to make myself very popular here but.....bad weather = bad snow, ice rink roads. special delivery/recorded delivery/first class delivery - select appropriate - bad weather is nothing to do with 'sally' and her team. just because something is sent special or recorded it doesnt mean it WILL get there the next day. if there is BAD weather then they poor posties cant trudge or slip and slide through snow and ice. same as i couldnt get an engineer to repair my boiler and give me heat when we had heavy snowfall back in february. no amount of moaning will help either.

    That's total rubbish.

Paid in November. Repeatedly got promised 100% Christmas delivery guarantee. Nothing arrived. Simples.

Add to that the fact that they dispute my Paypal dispute by providing 'proof of posting' which was simply an acknowledgement of order letter.

I couldn't give a flying fig about the bad weather. I've been ripped off.

I have to agree, though I didn't even receive a confirmation by post.
I can understand why people could look at these posts and write off our problems with the bad weather. However, the truth is that the situation is much bigger.

As Jase said above, the item was purchased in November and was originally planned delivery long before any bad weather. That didn't happen.

After a long wait and no delivery, I emailed them and was told that it would be posted out on the 21st guaranteed next day delivery and would be provided with a tracking number. Strike two and three, the item was not posted out by this method and no tracking number has been forthcoming.

Finally, all has gone quiet on the email front, I've heard nothing from them since the 'guaranteed delivery' email.

For me, if the item had been posted out guaranteed next day delivery but it didn't arrive because of bad weather then I would accept that, it can't be helped, (though the weather was never bad enough to disrupt deliveries where I live and other 'guaranteed delivery' items arrived safe and well, though I know that other parts of the country were much worse). If Sally et al. had sent me an apology and compensated the fact that they didn't get the item shipped to me as early as they should have (before bad weather set in), then I would have been disappointed but understanding. The fact that they didn't ship the item earlier and then didn't at least try to get the item here before Christmas (i.e. use a special delivery method) is totally unacceptable. The emails offered reassurance when they had taken no measures on which to base it. By the sounds of previous posts, the few who did receive the item received it by standard first class or recorded first class. Neither are a guaranteed next day service even when the weather is good.

To be lied to and told that the item has been sent out by a particular method when it hasn't is unacceptable. Hey, if it had been sent out guaranteed next day delivery I think I would have received it today.

At the end of the day, I don't know if I'll ever get this item. It's certainly not looking good.
  • wooooo hooooo my Knitted character arrived today, in a small plastic bag NOT RECORDED OR NEXT DAY just normal post, they paid £1.26 don't know if it is first class, my daughter is over the moon with him, it is small, yellow, but overall really happy it just arrived, my daughter does not seem to care or notice just loves it! so don't give up hope, might all get yours by the end of the week, no paper work inside, packet either.

just out of interest, we had terrible snow where i live, (snow came up to the top of my wellies) my daughters school was closed, but i still received post and i had a parcel delivered by parcelforce, so i don't think they can use that excuse.
  • Dr Scott - that sums it up nicely.

However, somewhat ironically the knitted freak plopped through the letter box today. Postmarked 24 December sent by regular mail. There's no way it could have got to me by Christmas and the company's lack of honesty and blatant disregard for its customers is unforgivable.

Dr Scott I hope yours arrives. Mine is not a great replica but I'm actually quite happy with it and so I will put this down to experience.

Glad you both got them. Unfortunately I am still waiting... and we haven't had any snow here at all, not last week or this week! Obviously, judging by the way yours were both delivered, the email we all got telling us that they had all been sent on 21st December by "recorded, guaranteed, next day, packet post" was a BLATANT LIE! I'm really p****d off that I waited in for the elusive parcel 3 days running (22nd, 23rd and 24th December all day), cos I didn't want to miss the postman, when there was obviously no way it would have got to me anyway.

Sally if you're reading this - you stink!
