he cried when it wasn't there.

Were they not happy to have received other things for christmas?

I find it strange that young children would cry because one thing was missing, when normally, children would be happy at receiving other presents.

I'm sure I would be annoyed if something that was promised didn't turn up, but for it to ruin christmas and leave children heartbroken just seems weird imo.

  • Judging by the numbers of these yellow fellas on ebay I am not alone in being disappointed.

AS for kiddies crying, well if they have only asked for the one thing and not got it then I can see a child could be upset despite having had other gifts. Children are strange creatures, one year my son asked for Bazuka verucca cream because he liked the TV ad!

Well I can't speak for bluecatblue's daughter but my son, who still believes in Santa, wrote a letter to Santa asking for one thing and one thing only -a knitted character from Harry Hill. Yes he did have other presents, but he opened his stocking first, and the one and only present he'd asked Santa for wasn't in there - so he was upset, thats children for you - I don't consider it weird. Had I known it wasn't going to arrive, then I'd have prepared him not to build his hopes up, but when you're told "guaranteed delivery" you expect "guaranteed delivery".Of course he's over it now and it didn't ruin our Christmas.

my daughter believes in santa, and asked for the KC several times, even when she visited him, yes she had other presents but not the one she really wanted, how can you explain to a child that really thinks santa brings them. it is not werid at all, this company let me down with false promises, giving me hope with "their don't panic you will receive your KC before christmas thats a promse" emails.

I think, because the expectation was there then I see why your children were upset, but I would find it weird if christmas was ruined, so I'm glad it wasn't. Appreciate that others saw it differently.

Helen and bluecat, do your children now no longer believe in Santa, because they didn't get what they wanted? Do they feel that Santa has broken his promise so therefore some of the christmas magic has gone? That would be a shame.

I honestly couldn't tell you. I think we were probably on our last year of keeping up the pretence anyway tbh. One of the other kids at school had already told my son "Santa isn't real - its just your parents". But he still believed, and reckoned this boy was wrong and maybe Santa only visited the children who believed in him. So... maybe we have have lost a little bit of Christmas magic, since Santa didn't actually manage to deliver the dream this year.

Post has been delivered.... NO knitted character, what a surprise! I bought this on the guarantee that it would be here in time for Christmas... it isn't... I have nothing. They should not make such bold statements as:

"We have undertook a final dispatch today using Royal Mails recorded and guaranteed next day Packet Post delivery service - if you are one of the few who are yet to receive your character he will be arriving tomorrow morning."

    Even worse:

"Please (please!) don't worry if he hasn't yet arrived, delivery is guaranteed for xmas and we've just the final few to dispatch now for the big day."

This is clearly not true! This is false information!

They are imposible to contact for any explanation, it's an absolute disgrace. I am very upset as even thought it was relatively cheap, it was one of the main presents. This company is a farce and I shall be reporting them to trading standards for false advertising and I recommend that nobody touch them with a barge pole. Disgraceful way to treat consumers.

sorry to pick your post out of the many but whats the roads like where you live? we have had very bad weather and many roads are still iced up and dangerous so maybe the fault lies with royal mail.

im going to make myself very popular here but.....bad weather = bad snow, ice rink roads. special delivery/recorded delivery/first class delivery - select appropriate - bad weather is nothing to do with 'sally' and her team. just because something is sent special or recorded it doesnt mean it WILL get there the next day. if there is BAD weather then they poor posties cant trudge or slip and slide through snow and ice. same as i couldnt get an engineer to repair my boiler and give me heat when we had heavy snowfall back in february. no amount of moaning will help either.
