Let me help resolve your question.

Only for individual queries did we send special delivery ie when a package had not arrived via standard Royal Mail 1st class and we had a customer email us personally, we dispatched special delivery. This was to a very very small number of customers who emailed to follow up the order and at a considerable administrative and financial cost to our dispatch team, you'll note the email you quoted was of a personal ie not automated nature, from one of our knitted team members. Its of note that yourself, as an individual who has not actually ordered from our company, should be aware that at each stage of the checkout process it explicitly details the P&P as 1st Class Royal Mail - delivered for xmas. Again, we dispatched special delivery on an individual basis as we did, with ever confidence, rely on the Royal Mail to honour its terms of 1st class post ie to arrive in 1 - 2 days. Our post made prior on this forum does offer an address toward this.

Indeed some customers received their original order for the product, albeit late due to weather, in addition to a second effectively free of charge that arrived via the next day service. Again, it is impossible to address individual orders without a reference and the individual who posted has been contacted directly via this forums internal messaging. You'll note use HELEN1965 has returned to post a comment of satisfaction in an issued refund. We are doing the very best we can.

I hope this is somewhere toward addressing your question. Again, please take a look at our previous comment on your post in our offer to send a knitted character to you without cost.

I was just going through my emails looking at the numerous lies fed to me via email. These were the last ones I received from Sally on 19.12.09. I was anxious and sent two emails to them to which I got the two following replies:

Hello - a personal update on your order.

I can confirm dispatch is set for Monday with guaranteed next day delivery - I will personally send the tracking number for you to verify.

I'm so sorry we have not been able to fulfill your request earlier.

Hope this helps.

All the very best :o)

I think this constitutes one of those 'personal' emails that confirms a guaranteed next day delivery. I don't think one can interpret this any other way, can they?
So, where is my knitted character and/or a tracking number?
• I've just emailed them using the method on theknittedcharacterteam's first post on page #8. Used UNDELIVERED + my order number in the subject line. I received an almost immediate refund via Google checkout and an email from them saying to retain the KC if it does arrive, in lieu of apology.

I think it does, so where is your knitted character

I think the knitted character team have just dug a bigger hole for themselves by commenting on this forum. I note they've gone a bit quiet since some of their lies were exposed yesterday. Have you had a refund yet btw? I did at least get my money back, well haven't actually got it yet but its in cyberspace somewhere :D

I was going to use the money towards an order from Cloth Ears but my son hasn't mentioned the KC since xmas day and seems to have a renewed interest in UB Funkeys so I'm on the hunt for some of them instead.

• It is not a scam. The company messed up. For whatever reason and people are starting to get theirs. They probably thought they would get a few hundred orders and were swamped with thousands and it all got out of hand. You might not have had snow but others have and my business has personally suffered because of this weather - be it suppliers or getting to the Post Office. If people could not get into work/get to the PO/whatever it means that 'all hands' would not be on deck to get organised. However, if it was a scam no-one would have anything and people do - inclusing a long term poster on MSE who would certainly be putting her 2p's owrth in if it had not arrived. Try googling focus clothing on this site and you'll see what a scam actually is. This company seems to be very disorganised, that is all.

bluecatblue - I understand however sometimes things happen and Santa cannot be depended on. You should make your children aware of this instead of promising something you actually did not have in your hand. If he asks for something expensive and you don't have the money what will you do then? You have already told him Santa brings him the thing he asks for. It won't stop him believing in Santa - it will however make him realise he cannot have everything he asks Santa for and sometimes he gives something just as good or even better. The list we give is to give Santa 'some ideas'. If he is that upset then it must because you had gone on about it too when you never had it - which in itself was foolish. It could have been lost or damaged in the mail had it been sent on time anyway.

Drscott - I apologise for insensitivity and for being so rude, I just felt you were letting this one little thing make you angry - and for what? Energies are best placed elsewhere and an explaination to your girlfriend would have resolved it, why let it spoil Xmas if you have had a crap year. Please send the letter if you have not had it by xx date and get your money back. If you cannot find the company details then post again here and someone will help you dig out more info.

And anthillmob..... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Seriously guys, if you are in any doubt about who someone might be then you have to check their posting ID else you end being looking a bit silly when you start throwing accusations around. It takes a minute or so. Hey, I've got my own business..... it could even be me..... :rotfl:

Thank you for the comments made here blue_monkey - be assured we have taken them onboard. We are doing our utmost to resolve the few customers who have had cause to comment on this forum and are working with Royal Mail to establish the whereabouts of the consignments as per our formal post made on the forum.

The Knitted Character Team.

Hey just a thought... but how many of the KC's currently on ebay do you think are actually our orders being sold by dodgy postman? :rotfl:

Sorry to offend any hard working posties - I know you do a cracking job, but it could've happened...they are popular ;)

I totally agree. There is no way they can dismiss 2 emails to me regarding guaranteed next day delivery, can they? Perhaps that is why they are yet to respond to any of my posts or give me a refund/apology.

I had two of these delivered today and I am bitterly disappointed. Haven`t been able to have a good look as my son is around but the colours are not right and the figure is tiny. The description clearly says `as seen on TV` and they cost £14.48 each with P&P.

I think they have been very cunning sending them out so late as I suspect many buyers would have returned them for a refund. One of mine was ordered on behalf of a friend and I am not sure if she will want it as it is rubbish.

Anyone else had them and not happy?

ETA - the website does not appear on google search any more......I think we have been had. I am off to read the terms of google checkout to see how things stand.

Edited again....google checkout says the seller may chqarge a restocking or processing fee. But the website is no longer there to check their policy. Personally I feel they have mis-described these figures asthey are most definitely not ` as seen on TV`

What thoughts do others have? Feeling very cross and ripped off atm.

Hi - we are sorry your disappointed with your knitted character. The character is based on the doll that appeared in Eastenders, its first public appearance. Harry Hill uses several varying sized dolls in the show. The doll from our knitted team can be compared with that from Cloth Ears - you will find our interpretation, in size, is exactly the same. Our doll differs only in that it has a purple tag hand sewn to the rear scarf. In respect of colour, the knitted character appears a bright white under studio lights when it is infact off white, as vintage toys are/were typically. I hope this is some aid toward your posting and we do appreciate your feedback made.

I would like to outline the many hundreds of emails and xmas cards we received, a selection of those were posted on the site. Currently we are updating and resolving issues with our email server (this can be corroborated with our host Weycrest). It is unfortunate that we have not been able to satisfy ever customer however - but the following are comments made to our company of which were of great support:
____

We have chosen to remove testimonials due to MSE rules as noted by a previous post. Knitted Character Team.
_____

NB Permission has been sought to publish these comments and can, upon request, be verified.

As we are working exceptionally hard to address the few undelivered items we kindly ask that we are given consideration in the frequency of our posting on this forum as, highlighted by a customer, our focus is wholly toward resolving outstanding issues but we felt it right and pertinent to make comment on this forum. We are a small firm and our resources are absolutely strained but we are doing our level best - indeed the few undelivered characters have sullied and diluted the goals of an otherwise enjoyable project for all those involved with the knitted character.

Currently our refund and returns rate is less than 3% though, again, we do accept this is of little consolation to those who have not yet received the product for reasons we are desperately attempting to address.

Today we received this email from a customer whom we dispatched for xmas but also sent another after receiving a personal email to identify the packages whereabouts:

From: k***32011@blueyonder.co.uk
Subject: Second Order Received
Date: 2 January 2010 14:04:44 GMT
To: info@harryhillknittedcharacter.co.uk
Reply-To: k***32011@blueyonder.co.uk

"Hi, I placed an order for a knitted character in time for christmas, as the date got closer and I has not yet received it, I sent an email to you advising I hadn't received it, I think this was around 22nd/23rd Dec, I then on christmas eve received the knitted character. However I then received a second knitted character on 29th December, which had actually been posted earlier than the one i received going by the post mark.

Anyway, I have decided I would like to keep this second knitted character, so please advise me on what you would like me to do.

Thanks

Paul"

If any other customer has had a similar experience please email us at info@harryhillknittedcharacter.co.uk as this will support our claim with Royal Mail. We will, of course, for this customer not be requesting the second character is returned.

Thank you for your kind consideration and continued patience.

The Knitted Character Team.

Appears Sally and her team want to do a bit of self-promotion rather than sort out the problems mentioned on this forum.
