I can't get through to customer services, I just get cut off! or at best I get 'sorry we can't process your call at this time' and cut me off as well!

  • Is anyone else having trouble cancelling their Orange contracts? Orange seem to be putting up a fight and refusing to refer to arbitration.

Has anyone had anyone had any success cancelling recently? If so, how did you manage to get it cancelled? Does anyone have a copy of a letter from Orange confirming that they have agreed to the termination that they would be willing to share?
  • Well I got my second bill since requesting to opt-out of itemised billing this morning. And for the second time running its been fully itemised without any charge.

Which made me wonder... My memory could be playing tricks on me but it currently reports to me that you cannot accept a contract term by silence. If this is true then maybe Orange have realised that asking people to opt-out of a contract term change that incurs a fee is not legal. If not, then this paragraph is redundant - please ignore!

Alternatively, maybe they've just realised they are behaving appallingly and have decided to have a rethink rather than lose customers.

Orange are getting worse though - this comes short on the heels of the free Orange Wednesdays texts that aren't free (http://madkingsoup.blogspot.com/2006/06/orange-admits-misleading-customers.html) thing.

    Yes but what tariff?

  • Yes, Orange are getting worse, I'm trying to cancel and they are coming out with all sorts of false statements, I intend to take it the County Court because I'm fed up with the nonsense they are claiming e.g. that clause 6.1 allows them to introduce the charges!

Same here. I am on Everytime 200 (I think) and again I have received a fully itemised bill. I have complained to Organge and had written to them (as suggested previously in this post) but so far the response has been the legal equivalent to "go forth and multiply".

I shall await next month's bill with interest.
The box said "Windows 98 or better". So I got a Mac...

"Direct Plan 200 Min/100 text" according to my bill.

Successfully cancelled. Received a call this morning confirming my intentions, and to give me my PAC code.

Anyone got any opinions on the T-Mobile MDA Vario?

does texting BILL to 2018 still work to cancel itemised billing? and can people confirm, that after doing this you can definitely still view your itemised bill online, as i do need to be able to see it in some form.

this is annoying, but even worse is the charge for delivery reports i have now noticed on my bill. 1p per report which doesn't sound too bad, but if i use all my 500 texts a month, that's £5! so looks like i'll be switching those off, even though they are a really useful feature.

I can confirm it still works, you get a message back saying 'blah blah next bill, view online'. :)
