It takes a while for the holiday settings to kick in and for listings to come back when you turn holiday settings off. I'd turn it off the night before to be safe.

But since I haven't sold anything in almost THREE WEEKS, I don't think it would make much difference to me.

Thanks - hope you get some sales soon!

When you set your holiday settings it warns that it can take 36 hours to activate. I tend to set mine a few days before I go so that I'm not hunting round at the last minute for a book to post.

Well my whinge worked (unlike that last rotten whinge) and I sold a book. I'll make £1 off it but it's better than nothing!

    Thanks Amazon thread ghost. :A

Well done Annie :T How many do you have listed?

I've had three sales in July so far, out of about 75 curently listed, so I'm happy with that.

A good seller at the moment seems to be a book called Freakonomics. I've sold two within about a week. As one only cost 10p at the car bootsale and netted me about £3.50 profit I grabbed the second one when I saw it in a charity shop a few days later, and that sold within hours of listing too.
  • Just had another sale - only £1.20! I've only sold 2 items this month so far (not including a pending!)
2023 wins - Rice Krispies, Avene Micellar Gel, Barbie Toy, £20 Apple Gift Card, KFC 6 piece bargain bucket, Chloe Nomade perfume, Barbie Toy (second one), Sanctuary Spa Sleep Balm, E45 Moisturising Lotion, Trolls Hamper, 12 Tonie Characters, Sure deodorant, Good Home Utensil holder, £5 Costa Gift Card, Neutrogena Micellar Jelly, Soap & Glory Mascara, Persil capsules,

Oh, that sounds like a sale I want to go to! I think Freakonomics is quite recently published, I was interested in reading it and tried RISI and GreenMet but there were no copies. I do scan charity shops for recently-published books but not having much luck, although I did get a Jodi Picoult hardback for 50p recently and sold it for £6.50 shortly after which was a pretty good return even with the heavy postage:j

Freakonomics is generally thought of as the best book to read if you want to do anything economicsy at uni, which is probably why it is so popular now.

    Hi

I have been searching through ebay for a job lot of about 1000 books but am worried that they may be just the 1p leftovers from another Amazon seller. I have however come across someone selling ' two van loads unsorted job lot secondhand books ' and it states there are over 70 sack loads of books 3 times the size of black bin liners from a secondhand clothing company who are not interested in the books they are donated.

I only wish that I was brave enough to go for them but firstly it would be getting them and then storing them and the time to sort them - have been tempted though!! Maybe that is one for the Amazon professional!!

Let us know how you get on if someone wins them - I think I might stick to haggling at the local car boot for now - got one sellers entire lot of books for a fiver last saturday although still haven't managed to sort them all out yet - thats having 3 children for you!!!
