selling your stuff on Amazon - part 5

I have just got my first 3 out of 5 with the comment "Good Service" I'm a bit annoyed as it was only a £1 book - the lowest i list at.0

Help please!! I have some audio cassettes to list - do I need to listen to them to check that they are in working order? They are very long... and not books I would normally be interested in!! I know audio cassettes may not be in high demand, but I have them, so may as well list them. If I sell just one, I will have got my money back and made some profit.
I visited my local auction house's viewing day yesterday - there weren't any books that even looked remotely worthwhile taking a note of the ISBN unfortunately! So will have to rely on car boots and charity shops for the time being, although they do hold auctions weekly so maybe they will have something next week.
Whilst posting, my sales have been extremely slow, so thought I would have a little whinge....AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0024 come and join us :hello: make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the Ebay and other auctions, Car Boot and Jumble Sales Board0 -

It's a long shot, but you could try emailing the buyer and explain that they have effectively given you negative feedback and it has reduced your 100% to ??%. Tell them that as a small seller this could have a negative effect on your business, explain that you try really hard to describe accurately, send fast etc and ask them if there was anything in particular that they were disappointed with. By letting them know that a 3 is effectively a negative on Amazon they may decide to remove it. You'll need to come up with some good words though so that you sound nice and caring (I'm not so hot on 'good' words).
If they decide they would like to remove it you could forward them this link to make it easier for them.

Alternatively, you could take it on the chin and wait for it to disappear off the page. Problem is I think some buyers skip over sellers that aren't 100%. Though obviously not all otherwise the 83% US sellers would be out of business and they are clearly thriving

It's a risk if you don't listen to them because you will not know for sure when you send them out that they are in good condition. However, if it is a risk you are prepared to take and they 'look' in good condition - go for it.
Get ready to offer fast unconditional refunds though - to ward off any negative feedback for non working tapes.

Pending sale query:-
I had a pending sale on July 1st at 10.03am, it said the usual wait 72 hours before relisting. I DIDN'T relist it as I usually wait about a week, yesterday I had a Sold Dispatch now email at 16.38pm for the same item (I only had 1 for sale) I have checked my account on Amazon & it says the pending sale was cancelled & a different buyer bought it this time (The first buyer was in Italy, the 2nd in the UK). How can someone else have bought it if I haven't relisted it?2023 wins - Rice Krispies, Avene Micellar Gel, Barbie Toy, £20 Apple Gift Card, KFC 6 piece bargain bucket, Chloe Nomade perfume, Barbie Toy (second one), Sanctuary Spa Sleep Balm, E45 Moisturising Lotion, Trolls Hamper, 12 Tonie Characters, Sure deodorant, Good Home Utensil holder, £5 Costa Gift Card, Neutrogena Micellar Jelly, Soap & Glory Mascara, Persil capsules,0 -

Amazon now automatically relist on your behalf, but worth keeping your eye on pendings just in case it doesn't get relisted.
I haven't got a pending email handy but I think that it says that the item will be automatically relisted - although it never used to happen - so this is only a recent change.

Same thing has happened to me 2 or 3 times - quite surprised the 1st time as I was telling myself not to forget to relist ??? [does that make sense]
Looks like amazon do the relisting automatically if the transaction is cancelled - maybe FFM or AT will know the in's and out's
