Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice about negative feedback on Amazon. I've been selling for about 3 months now, but only have 10 feedback, one of which is now negative.
Here's what happened: I got an email advising me that I'd sold one of the playstation games I have listed. However, when I went to send it out I realised that I'd accidentally sent it out to another buyer, who bought a game with a similar name!! The buyer never came back to me to advise that I'd sent the wrong item and even left me positive feedback!!
As soon as I realised my mistake I issued the new buyer a refund and explained the mix up, apologising profusely for the error!! I've now had a 2 out of 5 feedback from them, with no comment (unless you count a full stop!).
My question is do you think I can do anything about it? I am well aware that I'm in the wrong, but as my feedback score is now only at 90% I'm worried that this is going to seriously affect my sales. I thought about putting a reply to the feedback, but I wasn't sure if this would make people even less likely to buy from me!!
I hope this is clear to anyone, sorry for the long post!!. Any thoughts or suggestions would be gratefully received.0 -
hornetgirl wrote:Well done Annie :T How many do you have listed?
I've had three sales in July so far, out of about 75 curently listed, so I'm happy with that.
A good seller at the moment seems to be a book called Freakonomics. I've sold two within about a week. As one only cost 10p at the car bootsale and netted me about £3.50 profit I grabbed the second one when I saw it in a charity shop a few days later, and that sold within hours of listing too.0 -
Can i have a bit of help with pricing a book please ?
Its on amazon with the lowest price being around £32 from us sellers only, none from the uk. But it only cost $4.99 new, so what price should i put mine at ??
Thanks in advance

Possibly more than £32, possibly less
Don't worry about the 'new' price unless it is still available new, if it is on 6-8 week delivery it's probably out of print.
If there are other editions then buyers may not be prepared to pay £32.
If you want to PM me I will happily take a look for you.

I would leave feedback - maybe something like "Sadly there was a mix up on this one, but buyer was refunded immediately".
don't worry too much about the neg as soon someone will come along and buy off you. It was just bad luck. I have seen some sellers with lower feedback than that, lots of negs and they are happily selling to v. satisfied customers.

I quite like that! It's so easy to come off sounding desperate or paranoid, but that makes the seller sound nice and genuine especially if it is backed up with previous good feedback.

I was down to 75% quite early on because I'd only got a few feedback ratings and then got a 3 out of 5.
I still got plenty of sales and my rating is now about 98% or something similar. I don't think the feedback system is as crucial as it is on eBay so I wouldn't worry about it too much.
So long as your books are competitively priced and well-described, they should still sell.0 -
Thanks Larmy, you've helped put my mind at rest and I will do as you suggest.0
