selling your stuff on Amazon - part 5

Cheers for that very imformative. As I said in the last thread just put my items up yesterday, the first time selling on Amazon. I thought it would be better than eBay as the books I have (woth around £50 each) go for just pennies on there!
Hopefully I'll get a few buys...none as yet sadly but evidently they haven't been up there long. Fingers crossed.

Hi Guys
My listings are coming to an end and not sold, however I have noticed that when I click on items that have ended it shows the ones which sold as well. How can I easily relist the ones that haven't sold??
Thanks

Hi, thought this new thread was a good point to de-lurk. I've been reading the other thread for a while and have started selling on Amazon. Steady but slow turnover.
My query is envelopes - I'm running short on some sizes, I need some A4 but not many. Can't decide whether to go for ebay or Viking Direct - Viking works out cheaper but is a big outlay. What do other people do?
At the moment I have a couple of hundred items up for sale - most of them would probably need medium envelopes, some are bigger books and a couple of video sets.
I should probably be over on DFW where I also lurk but at the moment I'm far too stressed looking after my children to get my flickering lightbulb to fully switch on!AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0022 come and join us :hello: make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the Ebay and other auctions, Car Boot and Jumble Sales Board0 -
If you don't want to buy too many but still quite cheap try your local £1 shops (Poundland etc) where you can get between 4 & 10 in a packet for £1.2023 wins - Rice Krispies, Avene Micellar Gel, Barbie Toy, £20 Apple Gift Card, KFC 6 piece bargain bucket, Chloe Nomade perfume, Barbie Toy (second one), Sanctuary Spa Sleep Balm, E45 Moisturising Lotion, Trolls Hamper, 12 Tonie Characters, Sure deodorant, Good Home Utensil holder, £5 Costa Gift Card, Neutrogena Micellar Jelly, Soap & Glory Mascara, Persil capsules,0

We have Poundstretcher here but not Poundland - the one up the road doesn't do padded envelopes. I've previously bought from Stationery Box and also when Lidl had them as a special.
Thinking about it it's probably best to get a smaller quantity from ebay then if sales go well go for Viking with my profits. At the moment I'm in danger of spending loads and getting left with piles of envelopes (although I suppose I could sell surpluses on ebay too....)
I'd prefer to order online as going into town I have to take bus fares into account and also the stress of going out with a baby and toddler!
On a plus point I have three books to take to the post office today!AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0022 come and join us :hello: make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the Ebay and other auctions, Car Boot and Jumble Sales Board0 -
VeryStressedMummy - welcome to the thread, you are thoroughly de-lurked now.
I don't have a pound type shop that sells padded envelopes so I have to buy from viking and the idea of re-selling your surplus padded envelopes is a good one if it stacks up, if you went with the 3 for 2 offer at viking and did some research on ebay to see what they are currently fetching on ebay it might just work out for you.
I did this last year when they had a promotion on Mailite padded envelopes, it was buy 3 boxes and get a free mini Vax vacuum, I had 5 of them before the offer finished and sold all but one of the Vax machines for £15 ish on ebay (kept the first one for light jobs like the car etc, it's a little dynamo) and shifted the surplus envelopes on there too. I love viking0 -
I'm getting very addicted to this now! Selling 2-3 every day. Can I ask, do you check your prices regularly and undercut anyone? I have noticed over the past week that someone is obviously checking the prices of their books and undercutting mine by a penny - lol - of ourse I have been doing the same, it's probably one of you guys - lol0

Some of the really professional mega sellers have computer programmes that react so that as soon as someone drops their price, their price is dropped as well.

This is why the suggestion came about that you just match the lowest priced book in your category and not undercut - that way no undercutting war is triggered off by either a software gadget or your rival seller that has noticed that he doesn't have 'lowest price' marked next to his book on his open listing list0 -
This may be more helpful to regulars rather than newbies:
Here is the exact link taking you to the 'buyer waiting list' page to download it:
https://secure.amazon.co.uk/exec/panama/seller-admin/download/preorder-report
If you are not pro merchant it might not work, I am and it worked for me.
I will happily send my file to anyone who wants it, just pm me with your email, it's an excel spreadsheet.
Just FYI there are 23,300 books on this list!!!
For those who don't know what this is, this is a list of buyers who have ordered something/ a book used, when this book becomes available and meets their criteria of amount they wish to pay and the condition they want then their credit card will automatically be charged, so if you have any books on this list you will sell it immediately!
However this list is insurmountable to may not be that helpful, I am going to play around with it, and try to filter it somehow.

Nice one, I missed that! I've been selling on Ebay for almost 10 years now, but you still live and learn with something new!0
