Doing rather well on my eBay shop, the items I listed yesterday I would normally start at either 75p or 99p but thought with it being Buy It Now I would put them @ £1.50 with best offer. I sold 2 at the full £1.50 each & 2 at best offer @ £1.25 each!

Still not doing so good on Amazon at the moment though :-(

I regularly do better with my books on ebay than Amazon, but I like Amazon as I can just leave everything listed and basically forget about it. Although, congratulate me, I've just made my third Amazon sale today..usually I only sell one thing about every 10 days or so !

Thanks again AT for letting us all know about Amazon. I am just sooooooooooooo addicted.

Went ot my local auction house today. There was only one lot of books- 4 boxes but pretty rubbish books in old ,bad condtiion. SO I never bid, they sold for £6 for the lot but I couldnt find one book that I thought would sell in it.
Good news is I sold 2 games over the weeekend ! never thought of selling games on amazon- thanks everyone.
Bad news went to charity shop spent £2.00 on 2 books and 2 cds that are not worth selling on Amazon or ebay so popping them back into another charity shop tomorrow.
Oh I think Im still trying to get a hang of this....
Another thing a box of videos sold for £6 I was tempted but was put off "investing" in them as was scared the tapes might be in bad, unplayable condition and didnt want to risk selling them ( not even sure if they would sell ) and having to do a refund because they never worked. Also didnt want to have a load of videos hanging around if they were very slow sellers- maybe you can advise on your thoughts.
Going back to aution house next week to try again , seen a nice vase I liked anyway so I will be minus a few pounds next week as well- must sell, not buy, must sell not buy.....

I think you made sensible decisions at the auction. It's harder to maintain 100% positive feedback if you sell anything other than books. Games/tapes etc are notorious for disatisfied customers eg items not arriving or being faulty. I don't sell videos myself, but the word on the Amazon Discussion Board is that sales of them are slowing and prices plummeting.

Keep trying with the charity shops, you will eventually get the hang of what sells (as much as any of us can). At least you're brave enough to get rid of them, some of us just keep hanging on to everything - just incase it sells

I have Clear your clutter book using feng shui so am too scared to have things cluttering up the house in case it gives me bad luck ! ;) Great book I recommend it to everyone it is full of very senseable ideas. Thats why I put my other halfs games on Amazon - they were cluttering up the house - or so I told him, good profit but sell his games- I keep the money, feng shui at its best
  • I have that book little book too (I assume that you mean Clear Your Clutter by Karen Kingston) and follow it where I can - but I have a house full of stuff (or is it stock?) a dichotomy indeed....

  • Do people find the holiday setting on Amazon quite variable? I'm going away for a few days and don't really want to switch my sales off until I have to.

Haven't sold anything on Amazon since the weekend but today I sold two books on GreenMet to the same person (much better for postage!) which brings my GreenMet sales to 3.

It takes a while for the holiday settings to kick in and for listings to come back when you turn holiday settings off. I'd turn it off the night before to be safe.

But since I haven't sold anything in almost THREE WEEKS, I don't think it would make much difference to me.
