I am now the proud owner of 19 boxes(the deep banana type) of various books.
    They cost £22.
Some of them look pretty old which may be a good thing and maybe not,I have never looked at old books to buy.
Havent started listing yet, still trying to find places to hide them, not sure if I can disguise this many.

Maybe we should have a thread running entitled 101 ways to disguise your books. I think it was AT who suggested covering them with a table top and pretending the boxes were actually a coffee table...

Soolin - what kind of children's books? I've been doing quite well with duplicates and unwanteds from my collection, mainly Chalet School, Antonia Forest etc.

    I've been Money Tipped!
:j Just sold a 3rd book since Wednesday! I am now thinking of selling some of my cd's and dvd's, are these anymore complicated to sell? Obviously pack very carefully. Anything else I should be aware of?

Ive sold some cd's and dvd's - ive found no obvious difference in the technique and have had some pretty fast sales

my only problem was one dvd that the buyer complained was dirty and scratched and they were unable to play it - they returned it - all i could see was a few fingerprints which wiped off and it played first time on my machine

i was polite and refunded them but they still gave me a neg

The postage allowance is a lot lower for CDs and DVDs. Just be careful about pricing them up, as you can end up making a loss after posting them out! :o

The ones I took to the school yesterday were all modern type books, Postman Pat, Roald Dahl and the large format softcover books for younger readers. Most of them were 1p books I have had lying around and I really didn't have room to store them when I am unlikely to get a sale, some had over 100 copies listed at a 1p so it didn't seem worth it.

  • I've never posted here for a whinge or moan but everyone else seems to report results so here goes -

I'd like a few more sales, any would be good but expensive ones would be better!

There, it's done and I hope it works out
If I screw my eyes up tight I can just about see where you're coming from
