Do you find any particular kids videos sell well Yvonne? I have a big stack of Disney ones, but most of them are listed at 1p. The only one I did ok with was Hercules, which went for £7.50. I promptly bought another copy at a boot sale, only to find the price had dropped to 45p!

Mainly Disney ones, although I have sold a few older ones which have been brought back if you know what I mean (Postman Pat, Bill & Ben etc). My 2 best sales have been Neverending Story for £9.99 & Ruth Rendell Mysteries - A Guilty Thing Surprised £9.00

I don't list any at less than £1.50 as otherwise I don't make anything at all once fees & postage have come off.
2023 wins - Rice Krispies, Avene Micellar Gel, Barbie Toy, £20 Apple Gift Card, KFC 6 piece bargain bucket, Chloe Nomade perfume, Barbie Toy (second one), Sanctuary Spa Sleep Balm, E45 Moisturising Lotion, Trolls Hamper, 12 Tonie Characters, Sure deodorant, Good Home Utensil holder, £5 Costa Gift Card, Neutrogena Micellar Jelly, Soap & Glory Mascara, Persil capsules,

I imagine if you sold a video for 1p you would be out of pocket after paying Amazon fees and postage.
Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!
  • Just made my first sale on my new eBay shop - £3.

FVF was 20p whereas if I'd have listed it before I think it would have been
15p but it would have cost me 20p to list it but this way it was only 3p so I'm happy.

I have sold 4 books and a DVD since last night, I now have 107 listings. I had to remove a couple as I sold the items at a carboot.

Tonight two books sold to the same buyer, I have out them both in one envelope. I will have only made about £4, nothing great but do you usually offer a refund at all since thye have bought two?

Good luck with your shop Yvonne.

  • I have only ever sold 2 items to the same buyer once but it was going abroad so by the time I had posted it I hadn't made much anyway so I didn't bother refunding. Amazon don't allow you to combine postage to the buyer (Unless you refund yourself) so personally I would post them & see how much it costs then see what you have left from your money.

I stuck a pound coin in the envelope, saying that I appreciated their custom, and said that it had been cheaper to post together. They sent a glowing email back and asked what other books I was selling. They said they hoped to buy from me again, so I felt it was worth it.

    Hi
I live in Cromer Norfolk! ( I could not come up with an original name to log in with) I found my local auctions in yellow pages and rang to ask them if they normally had any lots of books. They also advertise in local papers if they have any commercial sales. We just had a book shop that closed down which sold new books so I used any spare cash and got over 1500 books for £300 all selling well on Amazon.

    I hope this helps

    Hi Kaminari,
I have joined forces with my Mum who has retired and we now have about 4350 books in HER house we are now looking for cheap storage. It started off just selling books that my family did not need anymore (some I had to sneak out they don't like parting with their books).
The postage is my biggest cost and I have not found away to bring this down.
I you sell enough it is worth signing up as a pro seller you paid a monthly fee but you don't get charged so much per book.

    Thanks Cromer!

I was a pro merchant. I had about 500 listed and was getting about £120 every two weeks. Unfortunately i have been living in a little flat in london so didn't really have the space to do it. BUT! we are moving to a place that has a garage in the next few weeks and the garage is going to be my book store. Yeah!! I aspire to what you are doing.
Next step is to get a car to help with the bulk collection of books.
A lot of my books come from the tip. A friend of mine collects furniture and other bits from the tip during the week to sell at the markets(I can't believe what some people throw away!). I have asked him to get any books he comes across too and he has never dissapointed.
