Some revered form of shelving mentioned in one of the previous Amazon threads (I had to ask too!).I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

I started selling on Amazon last November and found the best place to buy books is my local auction. I can pick up secondhand books for as little as £2 a box these are usually from house clearances. Sometimes they have sales when book shops close down. I did buy at car boots to start with but now my takings have gone up from £100 per month to about £1400.
I hope this helps any new sellers and how do I join the club0 -
Firstly apologies if I am seen to be harsh sometimes, I get so carried away with the chat that I sometimes forget to be a BG and when I am reminded that I am supposed to 'do' things I sort of do it all at once so I can get back to chatting about ebay and Amazon again. If anyone wishes any of my posts removed then please pm me and I'll get a second BG to confirm that I should take them out.
I do like the idea of being a Mary Poppins type person though, if only it would get my housework done at the click of a finger.
I'm also having a hell of a time with my internet connection, I lost broadband entirely and the dial up I had installed couldn't view either this site or ebay, then I lost my email facility just as I sold a whole load of things and had no way of telling people their stuff was on the way.
Things are fragile but working at the moment but I am sitting surrounded by books everywhere, I just tried to photograph a large item for ebay and realised i didn't have a clear wall to photograph against. I picked up a car load of books last week and with no internet connection couldn't list them, so i'm now ploughing through them a few at a time but meanwhile they are piled everywhere.
I've a whole load of supposedly rare football books that smell something ghastly and it's raining so I can't air them outside...keeping this on topic, is there a correct way of saying in an Amazon listing that the book smells of that old musty smell?

I really must find myself a different auction house then, I'm paying at least £5 a box and the boxes are getting smaller and smaller. The ones i bought last week though had a few crackers, I've already sold one for £25.

I want to come to your auctions too, I paid £38 for a stash of 13 boxes a few weeks ago but only half were saleable so that makes it over £6 per box in real terms.
The next club number up for grabs is 25, help yourself and welcome to the thread :hello:0 -
Another sale, this one was £2.00. Not too bad for a children's video that doesn't get watched anymore.2023 wins - Rice Krispies, Avene Micellar Gel, Barbie Toy, £20 Apple Gift Card, KFC 6 piece bargain bucket, Chloe Nomade perfume, Barbie Toy (second one), Sanctuary Spa Sleep Balm, E45 Moisturising Lotion, Trolls Hamper, 12 Tonie Characters, Sure deodorant, Good Home Utensil holder, £5 Costa Gift Card, Neutrogena Micellar Jelly, Soap & Glory Mascara, Persil capsules,0

Do you find any particular kids videos sell well Yvonne? I have a big stack of Disney ones, but most of them are listed at 1p. The only one I did ok with was Hercules, which went for £7.50. I promptly bought another copy at a boot sale, only to find the price had dropped to 45p!0

What area are you in?? and how did you find out about where the auctions are? I have a big house clearance place near me but I'm pretty sure they don't sell books - spose it might be worth popping in and asking if they know where the books go to?
I'm seroiusly thinking about increasing my stock especially with the summer coming up (I work in a school and will be getting 6 weeks off soon loads of time to list) and I don't know whether to go to some auctions (if I can find them) or get a wholesale pallett from e-bay.
What does everyone think???
What would YOU do in my shoes??
All answers on a postcard!!!
No sorry - just messing, any advice would be helpfull0
