Oooh just been checking my A-Z claim from that faulty video the other day and it appears (not had an email from Amazon to confirm tho - im not sure how they usually do this as its my first)
They have refunded the purchaser BUT they have decided Im not responsible for this claim
So Im extremely relieved, I really could do with not losing any money atm
Thanks to everyone for their help and assistanceSee the stars they’re shining brightEverything’s alright tonight0 -
I dont know if you have covered this already but .......
Amazon provide a postage fee for books set at £2.75, but what service do you send them ie first or second ? My reason for asking is that I received a book via 2nd class and was a little peeved as I generally understood the allowance to be so you can provide the same delivery that amazon do ie first class, is this not the case ??
Can everyone give a quick poll of what service they use, and does that depand on any factors ?
thanks in advance

this was asked a few pages back and the majority of people said they sent 2nd class but only if they posted the same or next day. A couple of us post first class (unless its a really heavy cheap item)
There is no hard and fast rule tho, Amazon arent particularly specific about first or second, only that it has to be sent out within 2 working daysSee the stars they’re shining brightEverything’s alright tonight0 -

There's no requirement to send first class, just to post within two working days. A lot of books the postage will be a lot less than £2.75, but for heavier books the charge is still £2.75. Also, Amazon take fees from the sale price and the postage charge, so the seller doesn't get it all.
Plus there's the cost of packaging, getting to the post office etc. I have some books to post today that I'll post on my way to the park with my kids, but sometimes I might have to make a special trip, pay bus fares etc.
Also, I don't order new on Amazon much, but they don't always have top-rate delivery!:rolleyes:AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0022 come and join us :hello: make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the Ebay and other auctions, Car Boot and Jumble Sales Board0 -

If I want something quickly I will buy from Market Place - delivery times are generally much quicker.AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0077 come and join us :hello: make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the ebay and other auctions, car boot and jumble sales board.0 -
Ok fair points, but the book i received cost 37p to post and was wrapped in brown paper, I just feel that they could have spent the extra 20p to provide a better customer service and still covered costs.
I havent by the way asked for money back or anything but i have emailed the seller with my concern.Bow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0 -

I sell a lot of books and although I do use new jiffy bags I always send 2nd class - it is just as fast as 1st class.
They way I see it is that the customer pays the price of the book + £2.75 to have the book delivered to them.
Some books are only priced at 1p, the book is clearly worth more than 1p but to take account of the high postage levied by Amazon the buyer has reduced the price of their book to take this into account.
I think you need to ask yourself if the seller has actually provided you with a good service. Was it well wrapped? Did they send it promptly? Was it described fairly?
If you can answer yes to all of these questions do you think it is fair to ask them to pay more of their profit to the Royal Mail?AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0077 come and join us :hello: make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the ebay and other auctions, car boot and jumble sales board.0
