Just a thought, was it 30 days since the order? If so, it may have been in response to the automatic Amazon request for feedback and they may have felt a bit put out being asked for feedback when they cancelled.
No not 30 days - I will phone Amazon tomorrow I think.

I managed to get my hands on a pile of books about Christianity from America. They sold very well. One went back to america and i had a note in the mail a few weeks later about the book from the buyer asking my experience of the person who wrote it. She said he changed her life. I didn't have the heart to tell her that i was a heathen with very little experience of any religion, that i have never heard of the person that wrote it and the books were collected from the garbage dump by an Afgan muslim friend of mine. Oh what a journey the books have had! I wrote her a polite little email, thanking her for her purchase and i was glad that the book found someone and helped make their life better.
I once sold a book on Ebay (no listing for it on Amazon) about Tony MCNally who fought in a war (can't remember which one) the person who won it said that he was so happy as he had fought next to Tony and he had been trying to get hold of the book. It is stories like these that really make it all worthwhile for me.0 -
I'm buried under piles of books here that I bought at auction. While I was listing yesterday I actually sold one for £25, so fingers crossed it is the first of many.
I've got a couple of large carrier bags in the car ready to go to the Friends shop at the local hospital who are appealing for some 'nice' books to sell (they have an excess of horror books at the moment that don't appeal to the patients!), and I've got a bin liner of books to go straight out for recycling. The recycling ones are mainly huge great Readrers Digest DIY bound sets, must have cost a fortune to buy in the first place but apparently absolutely worthless now.

Soolin, do you put your books into the cardboard and paper recycling?
When I worked in a charity shop, they used to put those Readers digest books straight in the bin as they could not sell them.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Actually we have an Oxfam book recycling point at a Tesco near me, so I put the books in clean bags and leave them in the car until I happen to be going that way.
These Readers digest things though are huge and weigh a ton, I'm just hoping they will go in the barrel slot thing to get them into the recycling bin.

Well I have resolved both my amazon and e-bay problems. Amazon removed 1/5 feedback - haven't had a sale for days so hopefully now I have 100% again I might get one - lets hope that book God looks down on me!!!!!
I contacted the ebay seller and told her straight that the item wasn't new as stated in listing and that I had paid for 1st class delivery and got second - I demanded a full refund plus postage to return item. She paid up and rightly so. Now my dilemma - what feedback to I give her???? should I go neutral?
Hope everyone is having good sales.0 -
Just thought I would relate some of my latest experiences as a buyer.
About a month ago, I purchased a dvd from a seller - no contact from them and waited like a child with its nose pressed against the window for three weeks. No sign of my dvd, so I contacted the seller - no reply. I wrote them three days in a row, to be finally told there was a problem and they had refunded my money.
Left them a 2/5 more for the lack of contact really.
Moving on.......I went in to buy the dvd again and the next two dvds were with an American seller, so I purchased one. Again, no acknowledgement, so I decided to write them to check dvd would be fine for UK (forgot to check that) and they replied yes and they would let me know when it was shipped. Ahem, that was about a week ago. What's with the 1-2 day dispatch?????
Still no word that it has been dispatched!
I bought a book for my sister for 90p, and ordered on Saturday. It was sent second class on the 20th and arrived to me today on the 22nd, so I suppose you could say it took two days? (that's just info for second class senders).
Naturally the price of the book warranted second class too - no complaints there.
I don't understand though how these sellers get away with not sending within two days?????
Are you still awake? Rant over....my point is just to give ourselves a pat on the back for taking it so seriously and trying to provide a good service. We need a pat on the back smiley.:)Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01
