Yesterday was my first day without a sale for 10 days!!!
So I'm MOANINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG...................
Mind you I've had a really good run so I shouldn't really complain but hey I have a garage full of books that need shifting so........
Hope my moan works for others too.
Have a good day0 -
Annie, fingers crossed for you.
I usually sell about 1 book every 10 days (from approx 300 listed) but have now sold 3 in two days plus 2 more on ebay...so I'm a few inches of box space clearer now!

I have just emailed Amazon asking if they could make life easier for us.
1. Put the oldest - newest button back in the options. Trying to sell old books like Tale of Two Cities, with 300 listings is a nightmare without being able to find your date edition.
2. When an item is sold they give us loads of information, but the thing that would really help is if they told us the day the book was listed. This would mean that instead of trying to sort through hundreds of books. You just find the box with a sticker on the end saying XXXXXX date, pull the box out and whoopee the book you want to find is there. No more putting alphabetically or into genres, or whatever other method we all use.
I hope they take my request seriously.
Does anybody else think this might help them?

matt, I agree that finding where you have put your book can be a pain - I have 2 ideas for you, my first is to write the date that you listed the book in the listing, just at the end of your decription put ref 5/6/06 or whatever, it won't mean anything to the buyer but it will to you.
The thing is if you start this now it will help with newly listed books but not the old ones so this is where my second suggestion comes in, I did this over the weekend I'd I'm still pleased with myself!!!
Take photos of the spines of all your books in the boxes where they are kept, print out the photos as well as keep them on the computer - as you sell a book put a line through the picture. If you add a new book to the box write it's details on the back of the photo and when you have a few new books added to the box take a new photo.
This really works, I sold one this morning that I had a hunch was in a certain place, this would have meant burrowing under the stairs but I checked my photos first and realised that it was somewhere else entirely - it's easy to lose track of a book when it wasn't your book, you didn't read it and it's as dull as ditchwater with a title that is similar to 20 more that you have for sale.
If I had an Amazon wish it would be to have counters on your books so if it kept getting looked at and passed over you'd know that you need to lower the price or redo the description somehow, at the moment you don't know if anyone has ever looked at your book.

Don't worry Elona - I have just been let down by someone with quite a few 1/5 for not having the item. I did not even look at that though maybe I should have in this case, but they had tons of 5/5 to make up too.
If the price is right, people will buy off you - what did you put in your reply? I have to go to work now but will re-read your post later.
Try not to worry! These horrors come along every now and then, and soon it will be just a pesky memory.:)Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

This is frustrating, but all you can really do is refund him and relist. Put the details into the 'comment' box on the refund so that there is a record that you did send it and it was returned.
It's annoying because you've lost out on the postage element, hopefully the book will resell.AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0077 come and join us :hello: make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the ebay and other auctions, car boot and jumble sales board.0 -

Don't worry - you will get more sales, have you seen the feedback rating of some of the American Sellers and they have loads of sales.
Fingers crossed that you get a few 5*'s very quickly and it drops off of the front page of your feedback.AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0077 come and join us :hello: make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the ebay and other auctions, car boot and jumble sales board.0 -
Thanks - you have managed to cheer me up a bit.
Started to cry but not because of Amazon- my dad is very ill and I could do without the aggro for a 25 pence book that actually cost me money because it was heavy to post.
So much for trying to do a good turn."This site is addictive!"
