I've just come back off hols and had to go through and reprice loads of books to match the lowest market price. Why do people undercut so much? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I am listing books which are quite old. Looking at other listings there are quite a few terms/descriptive words used, I'm not 100% sure of the meanings. Is there anywhere that I can find a list of the terms?

    Thanks again,
Book Finder has a list under "glossary"

also if you happen to have some bubble and a thick carrier bag (clothes shop?) you can turn the bag inside out and it looks fine as an outer wrapper.
Thanks for the tip about carrier bags, AT - I'm so thick I've never thought of it myself. :o
  • I've done that too and sent them a link for these threads so they can get a bit of help....don't know if any of them came for a look though...

Excellent idea - I shall do that too next time.

  • The thing is FFN, if we here on MSE can get hold of newbies before they make mistakes like pricing too low for the postage or undercutting ruthlessly then it's for everyones benefit, there is some help on Amazon but it's not easy to find for someone listing for the first time - I think that the Amazon Forum people should be thanking us for setting newbies off properly not giving us stick for giving away trade secrets, my own opinion of course!

I totally agree! If they were to take the time to thoroughly read these boards they would appreciate how hard you guys on MSE are trying to 'get it right'.

I think that they are mostly against newbies who find it easy to list and then struggle to fulfill the order and in 'failing' give all Marketplace Sellers a bad name. Chances are that if the buyer is new to Marketplace and a newbie doesn't deliver then that buyer is lost forever.

However, your approach is right - offer support and help - and we all benefit - a happy customer will come back - not necessarily to the same seller but at least to Marketplace.

    I have 2 problems!

    1) I've got a book, and it says "used and new from £12.50". However, the only ones for sale are at more than this.

    2) I bought a load of books from the library, and the woman forgot to charge me for one. I didn't notice til I got home. It's only 20p, but I feel guilty and won't be going back for a few weeks. What shall I do?!

  • Hi Everyone

I've just read a thread on the Amazon Discussion Forum where someone has had their account closed down for listing a region 2 DVD under region 1. It doesn't sound as if the person did it on purpose or had a lot of listings like this.

    http://forums.prosperotechnologies.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=am-Uksllconnect&msg=4918.1&ctx=0

If you have any DVD's for sale I would suggest you have a quick check to make sure you have listed under Region 2 (UK and Europe).
