Just wondered whether the World Cup is having any impact on everyone's sales patterns?
I assumed things would dry up a bit, especially during the initial excitement of the first week. Instead, since last Friday I have sold six books out of only around 50 listed! I also listed a couple of small items on Ebay (don't sell very often on there - too time consuming!) and they both went for their buy it now prices within a day. How wrong can you be :T0 -
I am listing books which are quite old. Looking at other listings there are quite a few terms/descriptive words used, I'm not 100% sure of the meanings. Is there anywhere that I can find a list of the terms?
Thanks again,Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0 -

I've had no sales for about a week. I have listed more books tonight but have two more boxes to sort through. Out of the first two huge boxes I only listed approx 20 books, the rest weren't worth listing.Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0

Just sold a nice book for £4.99. With postage allowance I get £5.53.
This would be good if postage wasn't £6.44 + 70p for a big jiffy!!!

Do you have any offcuts of bubble wrap and some parcel or plain paper that could help you offset a bit? Or a recycled jiffy?
I posted one today that I only made pennies on,its annoying to have misjudged the postage. On the other hand, I sold a CD today that I'll get £6.30 for and won't cost much to post, so I'm trying to look at the 'bigger picture' and imagine the profit split across both sales.
Hope you get a good sale soon - I quite often find that after going to the post office I have another sale when I get back so you never know!AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0022 come and join us :hello: make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the Ebay and other auctions, Car Boot and Jumble Sales Board0 -
Thanks for that VSM.
To be fair I did sell a £50 and a £20 book plus others. I am not really complaining, just letting you all know that I am a fool!

Matt - that's tough but I think that every one of us has done this at some time, it's practically obligatory and it's one that you won't forget, getting stung is how we learn not to do it again! I've seen the most enormous books selling for 1p, those sellers are in for such a shock if they get a buyer....can you send it standard parcels for £5.31? also if you happen to have some bubble and a thick carrier bag (clothes shop?) you can turn the bag inside out and it looks fine as an outer wrapper.0
