I bought a huge roll of that foam underlay for wooden floors B&Q 9.99 and blueish/grey binliners from the pound shop, cut to size, brown tape etc with a printed label, and return label. They look quite smart and are waterproof. I sometimes use brown paper as outer wrapping too. My pound shop jiffys work out 25p each which is a bit steep for cheapie books. With more expensive items I may splash out and send it in a jiffy bag!:)0 -

I find that time is always in great demand, so I put as little time into packaging as possible. I have purchased those 'documents enclosed' labels - which work out just over 1p each.
I buy bubble envelopes from Viking. I do not worry about free gifts as they usually don't make much money back (and are certainly not worth what they say they are!), but buy them when they are 3 for 2 etc. It's actually amazing how quick you go through these things, especially if you sell on Ebay too. The bubble envelopes dependant on what size you want work out between 5-8p each. I then print off a packing slip from Amazon (at work of course - lol), fold it and stick it within the doc enclosed label.
It takes about 30 seconds for me to pack something up, and costs less than 10p per unit. If I packed with bubble wrap and paper it would probably take 5 minutes+ !0 -

I think that if a buyer is trying to decide between 2 books that are in seemingly the same condition and at the same price they are going to go for the one that promises 'same day, 1st class dispatch' even if mine is slightly higher in price I assume that my book will sell first
I think that putting this in the listing will make the sale, am I deluded? if you view this as a buyer how would you choose?
feedback please Amazon gang - tell me if I'm wasting money, yesterdays post office total for 11 Amazon items was £15.99, if I'd chosen 2nd class it would have been £13.27.Official Debt Free Wannabe Nerd Club member 095! Debt Now:

Yah! Larmy's dog is back! I just want to give it a big cuddle but i'm scared i will break it.
With postage i think it comes down to preference, i'm one of the few with AT who uses 1st class as a description marketing ploy. I wouldn't bet on it getting there any quicker than 2nd class.
I tend to agree with Comicmankev about packing. I'm lazy. At the moment everything gets sent in a jiffy from viking. When i moving next month and increase my stock i am going to buy a printer and get the doc enclosed pouches to help me along my extra lazy way.0 -
Hi Kat,
I have had your list, and I think I am going to go blind reading it.
It is brill.
Can you tell me, are all books on this list still wanted. It is just that I have found a book I can get my hands on. It is listed as being wanted for hundreds of pounds. Do these lists run out?
Thanks.
Matt
Hi Matt,
Yes they do have expiration dates, if you go along the top of the spreadsheet, near the end it says 'earliest pre-order date' and the one you want next to it is 'latest expiration date'. So keep an eye on that date, you can always type in the isbn to make sure there are still buyers waiting coz it usually says something like '2 buyers waiting' and when you go to list it, you will receive an average selling price, bare in mind that you should list it for higher than the average selling price as that is the average price and not the highest price.
The list is updated daily I think so in a few weeks time I might download the newer version and work from that.

Kaminari and ComicKev, yes it is a bit time consuming to pack them up!
If I am really in a rush though, I will use a jiffy, like today, in my lunch hour I have to take a book to PO. It only sold for £1.50, so I will probably do a package than a jiffy, even though it takes more time. I do love the jiffies though!!!
So quick.
Deffo no jiffy for this one. Paid 50p for book, postage cost £1.90 (first class), total amount due to me £2.64! Not one of my better sales!
I will start to be more careful of the weights and on ones like this not put first class - its just not worth it to me.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

I use jiffies, my toddler is just a bit too nosy and interested in helping so I need to pack as quick as possible.AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0022 come and join us :hello: make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the Ebay and other auctions, Car Boot and Jumble Sales Board0 -
I really like the idea of padding and covering in plastic or brown paper. I imagine that they look really good too. I'm just too lazy!0
