I put on my listings will post out within 24 hours & I've not seen a problem with my sales, as a buyer I would just go for the cheapest one regardless if it was sent 1st, 2nd or whatever.2023 wins - Rice Krispies, Avene Micellar Gel, Barbie Toy, £20 Apple Gift Card, KFC 6 piece bargain bucket, Chloe Nomade perfume, Barbie Toy (second one), Sanctuary Spa Sleep Balm, E45 Moisturising Lotion, Trolls Hamper, 12 Tonie Characters, Sure deodorant, Good Home Utensil holder, £5 Costa Gift Card, Neutrogena Micellar Jelly, Soap & Glory Mascara, Persil capsules,0

Just sold a video at 1p!! I had matched the lowest price as there were several at that price, only to find out that after Amazon charges I will get 58p!!!! now it will cost me atl east 77p postage (2nd class) plus other costs.
I think I've learnt my lesson, just updated the few 1p items I have leaving just the books at 1p0 -
AT- I find that most of my 2nd class items get there by the following day (judging from the feedback on ebay) . On Amazon I just state that I will post within two days, as I can't get to the main post office everyday have'nt had any complaints about this.0

I think that if a buyer is trying to decide between 2 books that are in seemingly the same condition and at the same price they are going to go for the one that promises 'same day, 1st class dispatch' even if mine is slightly higher in price I assume that my book will sell first
I think that putting this in the listing will make the sale, am I deluded? if you view this as a buyer how would you choose?
feedback please Amazon gang - tell me if I'm wasting money, yesterdays post office total for 11 Amazon items was £15.99, if I'd chosen 2nd class it would have been £13.27.
Lets say you had those postage costs twice a week for a year you would save £283 going 2nd.
I always use second and have been highly rated for the prompt receipt of goods.0 -
AT, not to cast a cat among the pigeons, but I looked at a discussion on the sellers board and there was a link to how your parcel should be sent etc, and it stated that books should be sent first class.
I think you know that I don't use Jiffies, but I do send first class. I think a lot depends on the book price as well. For example if you have bought a high priced item, but it is not v. heavy, then I think it should be sent first class (just my opinion) as when the customer receives it, I think it looks bad that you have sent second class after they paid £2.75 p&p. Now we understand the £2.75 charge, but they do not!
I am not saying second class is right or wrong, and agree they are probably not treated any differently by the PO, but to err on the safe side - I send first class. The heavier the book gets though, the steeper the climb in price.
I would of course prefer to use second class for the savings, but as I seem to attract some rather petty people, that's one risk I am eliminating!
PS In my early days of selling, I was sent an email by a customer questioning whether I sent a book first or second, and this started me panicking!!:DGrocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Larmy - do you say in your listings that you send 1st?0

As a buyer, unless it was an emergency I'd go for a cheaper item posted second class, rather than the more expensive one going first.'Everyone loves to read but it can be a real nuisance when you lose your place. Mine are usually the cheapest or price matched going first class, and I am hoping that helps get me the sale! Some of my books though are queueing as I won't make anything if they go the cheapest. They will still be sent first class though.
I have no idea of this pricing in proportion thing - I am doing an ostrich on that for the time beingGrocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Hi Larmy
I always try to stay within Amazon's rules but have never found a statement that books should be sent First Class. Could you possibly post the link on here so that I can take a look?
Many thanks
