What do you think I should do about this/ I bought a dvd, well over two weeks ago. The last date for the estimated delivery was 5th June. The Seller has loads of feedback, lots of 5/5 but then up comes the odd 1/5 about non delivery - I should have checked really, but it was something I really wanted.

I have had no acknowledgement from the seller and he/she has not yet replied to my email yesterday (another complaint that cropped up).

How do I stand on this one? Should I contact Amazon? Please help - advice needed.

It is annoying when you knowt he dispatch is supposed to be 1-2 days!

I would contact Amazon now if you've had no reply from the seller so far.

  • *excited newbie seller dance* I've got my first overseas sale! I got a bit of a shock when I saw £3.94 postage, my first thought was had I listed it wrongly and then I wondered (very naive) if Amazon had put the postage up in advance of pricing in proportion. But no - a book to go to Spain:D Any postage tips?

It's in Europe so it shouldn't cost too much, you won't need a custom's label on it either which is less hassle. Package it up then when you take it to PO ask them if it's cheaper to send PRINTED PAPER or SMALL PACKET rate.

  • Thanks - I should make a reasonable amount then, its one of the Hot 100, sold for £2.85 and I get £4.90. Considering I got it from Read It Swap It to read for my bookgroup and then decided to sell it as it was in the Hot 100,I should have a good amount even after postage.

Hope they sell soon - I have one video box set left on Amazon which I really hope is going to sell before pricing in proportion starts.

  • Hi verystressedmummy, I think that your video set might be cheaper when pricing in proprtion comes in - I just did a little experiment with my post receipt from yesterdays Amazon packets - there were 11 (that's because of my new intake of books, I don't normally have 11 sales over the weekend) these were all posted 1st class - I compared what I paid yesterday with what I will pay in August. There were 2 increases and 9 decreases in the prices but the one substantial decrease was a book weighing 1k, I paid £3.89 to post yesterday, with the new prices it looks to be £2.70 - maybe your video set will come into that weight category?

Crutches - Welcome to the thread :hello: come back and let us know how you go on

edit -as a further experiment next time I have a CD or DVD I'm going to pack it how I normally do in a Maillite jiffy and see if it will go through the slot measure thingy that they've just put on the counter - on the website they say that the large letter rate will cover CDs and DVDs but it might be a squash to get it through the slot....

Does everyone here post First Class?

I post 2nd class using stamps so that I don't have to go to or queue in the Post Office. I don't have a problem with delivery times and most of my feedback says fast delivery - posted one Sunday and it arrived on Monday (yesterday) buyer was highly delighted.

Plus I save a lot of money.

On the few occasions when a buyer has left feedback saying something like 'paid £2.75 postage for a 50p stamp' Amazon have removed the comment over the phone because the postal charge is not within in my control.

I should point out though that I usually post same day, sometimes next day but if I ever have to leave it to the following day I would post first class - not because I believe it would get there any quicker but the buyer would know that I had done all that I could to get the book to him ASAP.

There is a Postman that 'posts' on the Amazon discussion boards from time to time and he has said that the Royal Mail do not sort packages with stickers or stamps into first and second class - they don't have the time to differentiate and try to deliver as soon as they can for everything.
