doesn't bode well then...... my legacy contract ended 31/3/12................;)

No point speaking to sales, you need to speak to the retentions!

Call 0800 230 0202 and choose option 1 (Home Broadband), 5 (Leaving O2), then 2 (Leaving O2) and you will get offered six months free on legacy broadband.

That is exactly what my wife did, but they did not offer her anything.
  • I'm moving house and sadly need to discontinue my O2 home broadband which I have enjoyed for the last 2 yrs or so. Also on the legacy / original product.

Moving to less salubrious dwellings (residential accommodation) and I suspect that I will probably not need my own internet or will be forced to use what the building uses.

In any case, wondering if there's any way to keep my service till I need it next year when I return to private rental? Any way to hold onto my service/suspend it?

Or should I simply not bother and just assess the market when I'm ready next year?

Are you connected to an O2 unbundled exchange?

I have never known of anyone paying £18 per month for O2 legacy LLU broadband - less than £5 per month with the mobile discount is the norm.

I'm not sure. How can I find out?

We don't have any mobile with O2 so we don't get the discount.

Do an exchange search on www.samknows.com, and see if O2 if listed under the available LLU providers.
But at that price you must be on the dire O2 Access service (non-LLU).

It says our exchange has O2/Be LLU. How would I know if we were on the Access package?

Sorry if we seem clueless, I really appreciate your help.

Then you are probably on LLU. Try looking at your bill or online account and it should give some indication.
Or dial 17070 and if on a BT-based service you will get a series of numbered options after the number is read back. On a non-LLU line you won't.
Or you could just call O2 and ask them.

    The online account page says:
Current package: O2 Home Broadband Premium
    You're out of contract.

That's one of the LLU legacy tariffs. I don't remember the original cost for this, but do you actually need the Premium tariff?
