Yes last year, doesnt mean it hasnt changed
Why the unnecessary scaremongering?
The offer is 6 months free! Nothing about you having to be an o2 customer etc!
You get this confirmed by email.
Your contract has been extended to xx/01/2013 and your loyalty reward of First 6 months free on O2 HBB Standard 12 month product will now be applied0 -
Not sure if the none topup would work, as they may just add an automated discount, which if the topup wasnt done it would be £5 odd higher
Where did I say 100% ? I said not sure !!!!
Home Broadband and Home Phone are subject to availability and you need Home Broadband to get Home Phone. There's a 30 day or 12 months minimum term contract and you have to pay by direct debit. If you choose the 30 day option there's a connection charge. These prices include an actual monthly discount of £5.00 for O2 mobile customers (unless it specifically says they're for everyone). If you're on Pay & Go, you must top-up a £10 minimum every 3 months to keep your discount. There's an Acceptable Use Policy. 6 months half price and 12 months half price offers exclude The Basics and Access packages, and are only on 12 month contracts. 12 months half price offer available for O2 mobile customers of 2 years or more. For new customers, or O2 mobile customers of less than 2 years, 6 months half price offer available. 6 months half price offer ends 31st March 2012. If you take any Bolt Ons there are some terms. For any chargeable calls you make, there's a minimum 12.8p set up fee. Unless otherwise stated, calls to 0871, 0870 and 070 numbers are not included in your bundle and will cost no more than 20p per minute, 4.1p per minute or 104p per minute respectively. There are minimum call charges for these types of call. For a full list of charges, see o2.co.uk/homebroadband/callcharges. They're also in our FAQ. There are some exceptions, see our full terms and price list for details.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -
I didn't renew with them but when I asked what offers they had for me, the 1st person I spoke to said there is 12 months half price offer but she needed to get off work so I couldn't chat more. The next day I spoke to another person and he also mentioned 12 months half price but he also asked how long I have been with O2 mobile which I think I would only get if I have been with their mobile for 2 years.
I didn't inquire further because those offers would require me to sign up to their newer plans where the usages may be limited during peak hours. I chose to join sky unlimited instead...they give 6 months free to new customers.0 -
I called O2 last week and requested my MAC to leave them.. she asked why I was leaving and I told her that the only bad thing about them is the traffic management which is shockingly bad.
She didn't even bother after that and just let me leave without a word. The code was in my inbox in an hour... be careful anyone else leaving - O2 have this sh*tty policy whereby once you get your MAC, you can't use it within 7 days or else you get charged about £20... what on earth that is for I have no idea, never heard of this before.
Anyway I'm off to Sky for my phone and broadband - was working out about the same price as my primus saver phone (£8 a month) and O2 BB (£6.25 a month) but the Sky BB is truly unlimited with no traffic management and can also get Anytime+ from sky.
Best thing of all - TopCashBack were doing double cashback to existing Sky customers taking BB Unlimited so I got £100 cashback. So costing me £7.66 a month for phone and unlimited internet.... very pleased with that.A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A
If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.0 -
My existing 12-month deal's about to end - the legacy 8MB Standard package for £6.95pm. It'll go up to £9.50.
The £6.25pm plus £25 voucher deal for the All Rounder package sounds OK to me - I only get a speed of about 3MB in practice at the moment and I'd like to get this up a bit, to improve Skyping.
I don't do peer-to-peer, so do I really need to worry about 'traffic management'? It means an 8MB limit on streaming and I already use the iPlayer on my telly perfectly well at 3MB.0 -

Presumably because you are still on a rolling 30 day contract and have to give that much notice anyway-it's not a 'MAC penalty'No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

So why not get the deal on the Standard package of 6 months free and then 6 months at £9.50. At least if you don't get another offer at the end of the next 12 months you will be on a cheaper, non traffic manged tariff than the All-Rounder.0 -

Thanks, jem16. I take it that's the current retentions offer.
I think I'd like to move to ADSL2 and get my general browsing/streaming speed up a bit.0 -

The Standard package is ADSL2.
You mentioned getting 3MB. You will still only get 3MB no matter what package you choose as that is all your line seems able to give.0
