I just phoned to see what they would offer and got the £2.50 discount making it £5 a month for 12 months contract, quite happy with that.

I just called them this weekend as my last deal was ending, I got offered £5 a month for 12 months contract which I'm happy with. Came on here to post and found this thread.. It might have been better to read up on here before calling them in hindsight but glad I got the same deal :). Am happy with it..

is there a special number to ring for retentions?

If you have a contract o2 mobile you can dial 200 which is free and it gives you lots of options. I don't know if this is the same on prepay o2 mobiles though.

You didn't get the same deal. You got a worse deal. You could have had 50 pounds instead of 30 pounds, or 67% more money than you saved.

Not trying to make you feel bad, just making sure people who do read this thread before committing to a 12-month renewal get the best deal they can.

O2 have offered me the broadband for £5 pm on 12 month contract.
I checked to make sure it will still be £5 even if I don't top up my payg mobile phone every 3 months and I was assured this is correct.
This will save me an extra £3.33 per month,as I don't really need an O2 SIM.
Can anyone confirm that this is correct,as on line it says it's a £2.50 a month discount, you can't always believe what they tell you.

At the end of the day it's you -v- o2 on what deal they offered you. If you are concerned when you phone up again planning to accept that offer either (a) ask for it in writing by email - they're lousy with emails though; or (b) ask the person to confirm it clearly line by line and take either their name or the case number (if they have put it on their system in some way).

Either they'll set their system up correctly with the agreed billing amount, or else you'll have evidence to begin the laborious process of getting it corrected. You're undoubtedly entitled to believe an o2 person negotiating a renewal with you - and as long as you heard correctly you'd have 100% evidence to force them through their complaints procedure and to free arbitration if necessary - but hopefully you wouldn't have to create a mountain out of a molehill, which is why I say they'll either set their system up correctly with WHATEVER amount you agree or you've hassle ahead...

If I want the £5 a month, 12 month contract deal, Do i have to -
Phone and threaten to leave and ask for my MAC code
    or
Phone and just say I'd like to sign up to a new 12 month contract for £5 a month

I've just phoned and chose the option "I'm thinking of leaving" I asked for my MAC code and said I'm going to Sky for £5 a month.
The girl asked if it was just because of price so I said yeah so she said she can do £5 a month for a new 12 month contract.
    So all sorted

I was just wondering what deals people on the Premium package (£10pm as a mobile user) were getting?
