I just wanted to add that i have been listening to my chemical romance today, in particular the song Famous Last words, it really does say everything about a situation like this but it has the lines
I am not afraid to keep on living, i am not afraid to walk this world alone .
i think this is going to be my mantra from now on0 -

You get very low at weekends, TinaT. It might be useful for you to think about you can stop yourself getting into that trough. Your next goal might be to plan a better weekend for yourself, so that you don't get into a rut and spend the whole time in agony.
It's not easy - especially if you aren't near a big town and you haven't got a lot of money to throw at the problem. You might not feel up to it because it's daunting going anywhere as a single person, at first.
I was desperate to turn my lonely weekends around and fill the time. Sometimes, I'd have a crisis of confidence about turning up to things by myself but I knew that if I could do it then I would reach a better place in my life. I scoured noticeboards for free activities - talks, jumble sales, concerts, walks, whatever - and I made plans for the weekend.
I can laugh now about how I filled my weekends with activities that are just NOT me, but another part of me is extremely proud of how I found the strength, character and will to survive the transition from couple to singledom.
It completely did his head in when I spent one snowed-in weekend rearranging all the furniture in every room and removing wall art and knick knacks. I recommend it as therapy.
By the way, I wouldn't put too much store by H's description of barneys and sleeping on the sofa. He'll tell you what you want to hear and miss out the bit about having a passionate reconciliation, sadly. Please don't listen to this claptrap - for your sanity's sake.0 -
