    Yeah it should be because they did not do anything to my computer except to tighten the screws on what looked like a fan cos it was loosened due to a drop

    For future reference, you can use this to audit your system so that when you next take it in for 'repairs' you'll have an easy means of determining what's changed.

    some will be taken up by system overhead (v small these days) so basically its 8 GB minus a little bit for low level system stuff

    As you've already been told, sadly you've been totally scammed by some unscrupulous halfwit. I hope this turns out for the best but would really suggest you name and shame the scammer

    thanks I will ring him tomorrow ask if he will give me a print out of the work he has done to my computer and the print out of todays work sayingmy drive is cracked

    once i get that off him i will show him the print out

    Yeah, but what I was really referring to was; does it know that the drive is 80GB but only 8 is usable? Probably not though when it thinks it is healthy!
