Have you put the new drive in as an extra drive or as a replacement for what was already there ?

When you look in "My Computer" what drives do you have (C, D etc.) and what do the properties for each say (Used space/free space ?)

The new HDD was bigger than the old one wasn't it?
It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical

That is one tiny tiny drive - is it an SSD? If not it must have more than one partition unless it's about 10 years old or more. That seems a reasonable size for a recovery partition. If so Windows was installed into the wrong partition.

323Mb is low disc space. If this was installed by a pro shop I would take it back and get them to sort it. The drive is far too small for what you need (or partitioned incorrectly)

Thanks for your replies... i did ring the shop and they said the disk drive is nothing to do with them as they replaced the hard drive. I am not sure what the difference as my computer never had this before with more programs on it

I v much doubt they'd have put in a very expensive SSD as a quick replacement for a standard hard drive... more likely they had an 8GB one knocking about and popped it in. 8GB was quite popular 5 to 7 years ago for laptops, but I it was a lot longer than than when sizes were that tiny for desktops, I've a 10 year old drive in one which is 80GB and that's the smallest I have.
