    Where did you get the system from? If it was put together by one of the larger manufacturers we should be able to figure out what was originally inside.

    Ignore the red box, I just nicked this off google images.

    It should say at the bottom, you see where it says 2.2Ghz, 3.00GB of RAM.

    Yours should say something like that.

    Also, in future, if you're up for it, you can replace stuff yourself, its not too difficult :)

    If you go to run, and then type dxdiag does the memory and processor name come up there? Click no if a dialog box flashes up before you get the info.

    Did you say he replaced the processor and RAM?

    If so, you need to ask for the receipt. Hes scamming you.

    yes he did say that and he also said he replaced the fan.

    Do you have any friends or family who know a bit about computers?

    He has given you a single core 1.8GhZ processor. Which is a good few years old.
    The RAM, you have 1GB which it very low nowadays, although can handle XP.


    He is nicking your old parts, selling them, and replacing them with cheaper/worse parts I suspect.
