What is the best new deal for a new customer right now, utlising Quidco and refer a friend? The handset isn't a big deal (its for my dad who is happy with his current one) and I want to deal with Three direct. So, any ideas? Thanks!0

I've been on the 3 website today. In the past I have managed to go through Quidco & get most of the referral fee they promised back, I have also managed to get the £30 refer a friend back as well. Today when I tried I couldn't find anywhere to enter a friends details. I used 3's online help to post a query about this and was told that I would not be eligable for the refer a friend money if I went through Quidco.
Has anyone else had similar problems and, if so, were they able to find a way round this?
As John 306 mentioned:
1. Once through Quidco, Click the Recommend a Mate tab
2. On the following page click on the "Already been recommended" link
3. Complete the transaction
4. In the checkout pages you will see the boxes (on the 2nd screen I think) to enter the RAF number and a box for the bluetooth headset codeSLC: £13000+
Quidco: £131.24 (paid) + £0 (validated) = £131.24
Valued Opinions: £75 (paid) + £52.30 (received) + £4.50 (pending) = £131.80
StudentPanel: £250 -

I started off with 3 as did my partner. It was horrendous. Despite living and wroking in central London I could rarely use it as there was never a signal and when we tried to end our contract (after the miimum 12 - I think - months) they harrassed us and pursued us despite us having given proper notice etc etc etc. NEVER NEVER AGAIN!!!!!0 -
3 are great!!
i have had phones with 3 for three years, not had any problems apart from poor signal when im out in the sticks.
got new phone with vodafone from phones 4u and have been regretting it ever since, long story! but cant wait untill my contract runs out so i can go back with 3
guys at their overseas call centre are always so poilte and obliging, when i said i was leaving they gave me 12 months contract using my old phone and all i pay is for the last month - £15!!

Ive been with 3 since they came to NI
Handset: Finally got a free upgrade after a struggle to a E65 Nokia had to use 6280 after N73 last year screen broke for no reason.
Most commonly used location:
I do use it alot at my home outside Belfast the trouble is it is just on the fringe of the full city coverage so it still drops off sometimes in mid call or just after connection
Ease and reliability and connection:
Many people who phone me ever since I have been with 3 say they have to phone me twice and only get thru on the second attempt
Any other problems:
I dont like the fact that the call centre is in India
Overall service and rating (out of 10): 6 Im afraid
It might still be the cheapest Vodaphone was 200, Orange Got that down to 120 and 3 is about half that a month
Will try T Mobile in 2008 as I am moving to England0 -
Another positive vote for Three customer service - when I called (for free, of course) I was answered immediately, the operative understood the problem (different tariff displayed on the bill, which might cause problems with cashback), and arranged to ring the cashback company and me about it the next week (I called late Friday I think). She called back when she said she was going to, saying she was unable to contact the cashback company (no surprise there!) and asking if I had any suitable numbers. (I then put the matter on hold because I had discovered the old tariff printed on the second page of my bill and I had sent the cashback claim in with a covering note explaining this.)Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

my partner and i have been with 3 for last 2 years. i use sony erricson w850i in the caerphilly (near cardiff) area and have never really had any signal problems (even when others cant get signal on other networks). i use most of the services including web browsing, mms etc and find them reliable. they did a great deal when first year contract was up to. will probably stay although i cannot use the third party software that allows you to benefit from cheaper texting (as outlined in this weeks MSE e-mail).:money:0

Three are cheapest but I have spent the whole of this morning trying to get a contract with them. My credit check was declined although having a purchased a copy of it, it appears perfectly clean and three cannot assist. I been transferred to call centre all over the world, cut off and promised a contract and then not, so although they are good and their agents as helpful as they can be, please be aware of their credit checking process.0

3 is, in my opinion, the worst telephone provider in the history of the universe. The coverage is, where I work right on the south coast, patchy at best, and their customer service is lower than abysmal. I have been with them now for 12 months and cannot wait for the next six to pass so that I can get rid of them. I was with O2 for several years and wanted a different tariff that gave me more minutes than my original one but O2 did not have what I wanted (I don't particularly want text messaging), so I changed. That was a BIG mistake and it's costing me a fortune. After suffering numerous times at the hands of their intransigent customer services managers somewhere in India (I think), I've decided to cut my losses and wouldn't touch them again if they were the only provider on earth.
Why are they called '3'? I think it's because they have caused me 333 times more aggravation than all the other providers I've had in around 15 years of owning a car-phone or mobile.
Less subjectively, it might be because, for every one customer of their's that's satisfied, there are three that are not.0
