quick question - sorry if its already been mentioned - can you refer yourself as a friend if you already have a three contract?0
-
1. Comments on the E65 handset please
2. With the X series, does the slingbox come as part of the package?
3. WHat is the best value package to get for the money?
I can only answer number 2...
The Slingbox is free to those who have X-Series Gold (new and existing customers) - You may have to be insistant though, as it usually takes a few times on the phone or in one of their shops to actually get someone willing to give you it!0 -
Looking at coming across to 3, mainly for mobile internet and email. Does anyone know whether you can get Quidco when porting a number across to 3?0

I disagree. You will find loads of people complaining about every network if you do a search, and you will find a lot of people happy with Three on this thread. It's pot luck, and I really don't think you should be swayed either way by a small sample of people on here.
For information, Hutchison (Three's holding company) has reduced its spending on capital expenditure from company's current financial year, which sounds to me like that there is less likely to be new measures and infrastructure for atleast the next 2 years for improving service quality is UK's affected regions. Mind you, Three is operational since 2002 that is a good 5 years.
If you are planning to take Three's services, make sure your areas are well covered or stick with reputed GSM providers, as a safe bet for just voice service alone.0 -
i live in Tyne and wear never had aproblem with Three. Got a 6280 and get reasonable network quality every time i use. I find the customer service very reasonable and my contract charges are just great (£2.5pm after CB!). Suppose everyones experience is different.0

I might be the only one, but I have no trouble whatsoever with 3. Coverage is great ( South Wales area), rung customer service on 3 different occasions and had a solution to each within minutes.
At the end of the contract I was offered new handset with "loyalty bonus on line rental. I d rather pay a little bit more per month than go through hassle with cashback site, after my experience with Mobile rainbow.0 -
I've been with three for 3 years now. Its a mixed bag.. the reception here is great.. i travel a lot for work and have had no problems across most of scotland, even in fairly remote areas.
The customer service is where it falls down. The incompetence of the staff takes your breath away.
As long as your phone is working and you dont want anything from them, you'll be fine... try and use customer service for anything and youll be gobsmacked with just how bad it is.0 -
Hey there.
I'm at then end of my contract with o2, and have been looking around at tariffs offered by other networks. One that has caught my eye is the £15 Texter tariff by 3 which is an 18 month contract and offers 75 minutes of calls and 600 texts. For an extra £2.50 I can also get 10mb of data useage, which is pretty handy, I like to regularly check the football scores on the weekend. There is also a range of free phones to choose from, I'm leaning to the Nokia 6120 personally.
What are Three like as a network provider these days? I know a friend of mine was on their service about 3 years ago and used legal threats to get out of his contract after about 3 months. Poor service, dropped calls, phones that lasted a day before the battery died etc... Have they improved at all in the past few years?
Ideally I'd like to stay on O2 but after speaking to one of their customer service people the other day they are playing hardball over my yearly handset upgrade. Course they might fold when I get through to disconnections, but its nice to have a back-up plan ready just in-case.
So how are 3 these days?
edit: oh by the way, at the moment I'm paying O2 £15 a month, that gets me 200 minutes and 400 texts and 1mb of data allowance. (Got that tariff after following the advice on this site last year, ta very much!) The other day they offerered me a 24 month contract (no) with 50 minutes and 200 texts for £15. Needless to say, I'm not impressed.0 -
Sorry if this has already been covered (only looked through the last few pages)
Do 3/Hutchison have their own network, or do they piggyback on one of the other companies (like Virgin do)?
PS, been with 3 for 8 months as orange would only give me a decent deal if I changed my number, not if I upgraded.
Never had a problem with them (not had any dealings since set up)
Coverage seems to be as good as other networks (mainly Edinburgh, but also remote bits of Scotland)
Sony ericsson k800i, various half price line rentals.
Just find I'm using it as a modem a bit more so have to see if its worth buying the addon.0 -
Where their own 3G coverage is not available then it uses the Orange network.
