  • Handset: Partner and I just signed up for another year following eighteen-month contracts and received a lovely Nokia 6120 each plus a big loyalty discount.

Most commonly used location: He - Chelmsford, Essex and Broomfield Hospital (he changed to Three from T-Mobile as Three coverage was better in the hospital). Me - Chelmsford plus a basement in East London and also Central and North London.

Ease and reliability and connection: I've never had a call drop out or been unable to connect, but he has experienced this a handful of times from home. I travel to London by train, and find that the service drops to 2G around Shenfield and Ingatestone. I access the news and weather from my handset every day, and download games and music. Essentially my Three mobile is my main phone. Partner also uses a monthly £15 add-on which gives unlimited calls to overseas numbers, including mobiles.

Any other problems: My previous phone needed repairs, which was handled quickly and efficiently. Three sent me a jiffy bag for the phone and it was returned, repaired, promptly.

Overall service and rating (out of 10): 9 (dropped a mark since call centre staff can be a bit gormless).

Just got what I thought was a very good deal from 3 with their new Mix&Match tariff. 300 (cross network) minutes or 300 texts or any mixture of the two. ALSO includes an additional 300 minutes to use to talk to other 3 customers all for £15 a month with a free Nokia 6120 classic (this is now £16/month with 10 video mins since the weekend). I also got my wife to recommend me so she gets a £30 credit and so do I after 60 days. The Nokia 6120 is a great Smart phone that can also be used as a modem to access broadband upto 2.8Mb (£10 for upto 1GB) which is faster than my home broadband connection! I think SatNav is also possible with the software and a Bluetooth GPS receiver. May be able to go through Quido to get another £30 cashback or so...

Believe it when you see it. I expect your home broadband connection offers "up to" 8Mbits/sec too!
Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.

    Handset: 3 USB Modem

Most commonly used location: Shipley, West Yorkshire

Ease and reliability and connection: Perfect

    Any other problems: None

Overall service and rating (out of 10): 8/10

Purchased the 3 USB Modem plan to use their broadband mobile and I got to say that it has been a lot better than what I expected. I connect with a speed of just under 1MBPS, but I have been having a few problems tonight that it keeps switching between 3G and HSDPA.
  • Handset: Nokia 6120 C

    Most commonly used location:
    Homenear A1 Pontefract

Ease and reliability and connection: Generally good no other mobile service has ever operated in the house so the fact that it works 90% of time is a significant bonus!

Any other problems: The 333 customer service is patchy with overseas operators but persistence pays.

Overall service and rating (out of 10):
Only had the phone 14 days but very pleased with the services available free with a £15 per month contract. These include free email free ebay, google etc etc, and to make the whole thing doubly worthwhile free Skype. This means I can talk to Australia (and the rest of the world) free also they can ring me without cost. With family overseas this makes the whole contract worth it on its own. Recommendations get £30 off both bills. Overall service is 8/10 (much better than previous supplier!) but value for money must be 10/10 especially if you can get a moneyback offer/quidco/recommendation.
  • Handset: Nokia 6280

    Most commonly used location:
    Edinburgh (Central)

    Ease and reliability and connection:
Very unreliable, frequently lost connection. Once standing at one end of Princes St. with a friend at the other (also on a 3 phone) and had bad reception. Couldn't hear one another.

    Any other problems:
Called customer services and complained about poor reception. Informed them I would be cancelling my direct debit and not paying them another penny. Left handset in at 3 store and haven't heard a word since. (2 years ago this is)

Overall service and rating (out of 10): 1/10

can anybodyhelp? I am on the 3 network and needed a new phone. 3 have offered me a really good deal that does not include a phone. I have just bought a Samsung E250 from Tescos and had it unlocked. My 3 sim is not working in it. Is there anything I can do to make it work. Thanks in advance!
