Just to add my pennies worth. I spoke to 3 Customer Services last night to give them my PAC code so I could swap my number over from Orange.

I have to say I was very impressed by their service. The call was picked up immediately, and the person I spoke to was very friendly and professional.

I'm sure its an Indian call centre, but I had no complaints at all.

The switch to my old number should happen next Wednesday, so after all this I may be coming back on ranting and raving, but so far my experience of 3 has been very positive.

I am coming to an end of my 12 month contract with them. I have been paying £25 a month but noticed a couple of months ago they were doing a £15 a month deal. Phoned and asked to be reduced to that price for the minutes offered, was informed that it was for new customers only and that their cheapest deal for existing customers was £25. OK said I but I will be remembering this when my contract comes to an end. Anyway phoned them yesterday to give my notice, got India as usual and the guy kept on trying to sell me another deal, none of which were as good as the walk into the shop and get a free, phone and £15 a month for life deal I could get. He refused to believe that he was wasting his time and that how could I possibly be upset that they had refused me a deal only 2 months before. Fed up with 3, big phones and I don't get the coverage where I live for the exhanced services. If it hadn't been for the £360 in boots advantge points would never had touched them. However, free phone, free calls and some extra money was just too good an offer at the time.

I am too coming to the end of my (second) 12mth contract with 3.

Last year I called to cancel, and they talked me into the Razr V3, another 12 months @ what worked out to be £15 for 500 mins & 100 Texts.

Just spoke with their customer services, and told them not to send me another new phone, as I was off!

She told me that as I was such a great customer and that I didn't require a new handset, she could offer me a very good deal

The new 12mth contract will give me 300 minutes airtime, 150 SMS's plus some picture messages and downloads that I've never bothered with in the past.

She said that the normal cost is £25 per month, but the fact that no new handset is included, and my loyalty as a valued customer, the total monthly cost will be £5!!

On top of that, they are crediting my account with £25, so I'll pay nothing for the first five months :j

So that beats me going over to PAYG for now!!
  • I too had come to end of 12 months contract with 3 , and because i did not want/need a new phone .
they offered me 12 months 100 texts and 100 mins permonth free.

    all i have to pay after 12 months is £5 :T .

i live is southwest scotland and have coverage while my family who have orange, 02 and tmobile have had no signal .
so all in all i dont have a bad word to say about them .

i am fairly sure other providers do a similar deal if you are happy with the phone you have and you wish to use it for 2 years in total .

    kin.
  • i'm not happy with the phone i have now but these non phone deals look so good i may just consider buying the phone myslef

"60 days", they say the friend has to be connected for 2 months, at the latest it will be on the third bill. If it doesn't appear then give them a call and they will honour it

Does anyone know what the 02 number is to ring for my PAC? I don't have any credit on my 02 sim so can't ring directly from the phone, and i don't really want to put credit on due to buying a contract from 3.
