Haha - the stories I could tell you about Virgin when I bought a new genuine Virgin-branded phone off eBay and its IMEI was not in their database...Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

I was all for 3 network until today,
I waited in all day for a mobile phone to arrive,
rang them at 4 pm
they said it could come up until 6pm
rang them back at 6pm
they said it was delivered to your address and signed for,
I said !!!!! !!!!!! !!!!!! no it wasn't,
they said let me check,
then they said it was still in collections
and would be delivered tomorrow,
well I am sorry but that isnt good enough,
to suggest that I had taken delivery of it,
but once I said what do I do now phone the police,
they seem to have got really bad in my opinion,
they used to be such a good company,
they use parcel line apparently
so say no more,
anyway I will let you all know if it turns up tomorrow,

Cool thread, on 3 myself, looking for a good upgrade deal, been on 100 talk / 100 text since Sept 2004.
Anyway, don't mean to be rude, but does anyone else find the way the above posts in the quote are made to be really annoying when trying to read it, it's like statement after statement. I've seen other people on this site get at other people for not using proper spelling like text speech, but i find this way of writing posts just as grating.

What began as a fantastic looking deal has become a nightmare. I had a 6 month half price deal for £22.50 a month. After 6 months I was told I could downgrade. When trying to do this I was told I could not until 9 months were up. Am now paying £48 for half the minutes I had!! Then told I would be charged £25 to downgrade (new rule from Dec 06) unless I only took the highest downgrade (£5 less!!!). After that, I can downgrade to the next lowest once a month!! After bitter complaints about the service they have let me downgrade to £40 a month one month earlier. It is the biggest rip-off I have ever come across and I will never use this network again. I cannot get out of the contract which still has a year to run. In the meantime they are offering more fantastic looking deals but only for new users. BEWARE.0

iam up for an upgrade now on three , i have been on a £35 pm contract for 18months , spending around £65 a month but up to £120 one month , but three are a bit shy to try and sell me a new phone / contract , i have cancelled the contract due to finish on the 20may , but when i did they just said ok , fine , . totally unexpected .
dont they want my custom , also when i cancelled my contract i also asked how do i unblock my phone off the 3 settings , they wanted £15 to cover costs , but when i joined 3 in november 2005 i was told it was free if you complete your contract . so i guess they want me to pay again . i dont think so ..
i do think the script they use in the call center is a bit boring isnt it .
any way guys what you think .0 -

Ir really depends who you get on the other end of the phone, some customer service staff will just let you leave, others will offer you a better deal, seen as you have been paying that amount each month then I'm sure you will get a call off them before the 20th May with an offer to stay, regarding the unlocking of the phone they should do it free for you when the contract term is up, even if you called 1 day before that time they will still charge you £15 so the day it is up give them a call and they will unlock it for you for free.0 -

Hmmmm. I'm looking to leave Vodafone because I'm on an old cheap tarriff that they keep eroding the benefits of. I'm on £15pm, 100 mins (unused mins rolled to next month) and 50 text. It used to include up to 16 mms, but that was withdrawn a while ago and as of 1st of June the net allowance option is being taken away as part of an enhancement. Even surfing their own mini web of Vodafone live is going to cost around 5p a page capped at £1 a day (no word of a bundle as yet).
I like 3's £15 Direct 675 offer. 600 texts, 75 mins. (I don't wouldn't use either that much) For an extra £5 you get unlimited web access. You can even use MSN messenger and skype for free, something which Vodafone says it will charge for.
My biggest reluctance at the moment is the small range of phones 3 has to offer. They happen to have one of the ones on my shortlist, but what happens in 18 months time when I come to change again?
Also their customer service worries me. I really really hate dealing with overseas call centers as they have no clue. When I call Sky now I ask to be put through the Scottish office. Line quality to these off shore centres is usually abysmal and they fail to comprehend any question outside their predefined script.  :mad:0 -

I have found the "3" offshore CS to be friendly, helpful and clued up. More to the point I seldom need to call them. Don't let that issue put you off going to "3". Best move I ever made!Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.0 -
My wife and I have recenty signed up for the video talk 500 tariff with 3. So far so good. The phones where delivered promptly the next day by parcel force. I have called their call centre twice for some clarrification on somthing and both times the phone was answered within a reasonable amount of time and the advisor was quite helpfull. The deal also was quite good. £15 per month for 500 mins talk time or 600 texts and 75 mins talk time. Also my wife got £25 credit and I got a 512 mb memory card. also if you recommend a friend you get £30 each. hope it all continues to go smoothly
we both also got a free bluetooth headset0 -
Just renewed my contract with 3.
I got a Sony Ericsson W850i on a 12 month contract for £15 a month (regular price is 30) I get 500mins talktime and 100 texts.
The phone got delivered the following day and I love it to bits!
Ive been with 3 about 4 years now and never had any problems with them. My reception is great both now when in London and before when I lived in Sheffield (I also have another phone on Tmobile and I hardly ever had a reception up north on that network)
Customer services - ok its not brilliant as sometimes its hard to understand what they are saying, but ive hardly ever had to call them and the odd time I did I just hung up and dialed again and luckily I understood the next assistant!
I would happily recommend them to anyone0
