    Thank you for your email

Unless the branch staff told you they would specifically call you, they are not actually obliged to do so. I can only apologise for the fact that you have been chasing around via the telephone to no avail in any avenue taken.
I'm sure if you'd have popped in to the branch where they had your phone you would have wasted less time and money and had a far more helpful experience from Carphone Warehouse employees.

But then, I've not had the easiest time with CPW....

:rotfl: I just signed up for another 12months to 3. The last year i had no problems with them, they are very reasonably priced. Rang up 3 saying i was going to take out a new contract with a different provider (just so they improve the offer) They came back offering a W850i with 6 months FREE line rental and then 6 months at my normal price £35. The phone came very quickly and 3 have now credited my accoutn with nearly £200 to cover the next 6 free bills! Excellent i say, im well happy. :j

How important a customer were you to them, i.e. how much per month did you actually spend?

Mrsbudget: I can't understand how a phone which could otherwise be working fine could fail to send text messages, except if it was not set up properly. My message centre (on my Nokia 6280, found in Messaging -> Message settings -> Text messages -> Message centres - yours may be different) is called '3' and the number is +447782000800. If the number is wrong or missing you won't be able to send text messages.
Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.

Signed up the year before for 6 months half price line rental, £17.50/month and 6 months at real price £35/month. It's a very good deal i had seeing as i had only been with them a year.

In my case i havent had a bad word to say about them, although the salesmen are very pushy and wanted me to sign up that evening - The phone i was upgrading was for my partner so i didnt want to make a decision without consulting him. The "salesman" told me that this offer may not be there the next day as they change "overnight". I told him this was ridiculous and i would ring back the next day!

When i rang the next day i spoke to a nice woman who basically said no problem, sending your phone, have a nice day. I confirmed on more than one occasion that is was most definitely a 12 month contract and i did not want an 18month! (as i didnt believe it either!)

    Handset: Nokia N70

Most commonly used location: Cheltenham, Glos

Ease and reliability and connection: Easy to use handset, always a good connection unless in the darkest corner of Tesco! Even using Ebay I have never had any problems. Texts and Picture messages send fine - never had a failure. Most downloaded games download fine but fail to install due to having the 3 branding removed from the phone whilst software being upgraded (same for msn mobile messenger).

    Any other problems: None -

Overall service and rating (out of 10): 9

I've been with 3 for 18 months now and they were fine all this time, but when the contract was coming to an end, they upgraded me for another 18 month contract WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE AND PERMISSION! I only found out by accident and have been trying to cancel this for last 5 weeks now, with no success so far - nobody takes responsibility and every phonecall is costing me money that I will never see again.
So - 3 is fine until you have problems. Their customer service is appalling. It's so frustrating, it's like talking to the wall... So my advice is - NEVER EVER sign a contract with Three!
If you want cheap contracts, T-mobile does the same deal - £15 for 500 mins and no texts, and Virgin is very cheap if you have an NTL package (TV, Phone, Broadband) - you can have 300mins + 300texts for extra £10 a month! I'm switching to Virgin once I get away from Three.
