I took delivery of a SonyEricsson K 610iR from Three this morning, now having doubts about opening the packaging and inserting the sim card which will tie me to the contract for 18 months. Wondering if it could be 18 months of Hell? Considering one of the OSPS deals with O2, as the saying goes "I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure". Ordered a Nokia N80r from Three a week past Saturday but even though they confirmed delivery etc. it was out was out of stock. Having read a lot of posts Three don't seem to have their act together and would appear that if you are lucky and live in an area where the signal is good then you are onto a winner as their price plans are unbeatable, more than their customer service according to most posts, I think I'll leave the Sony K610iR in its packaging for another day or so as I'm not convinced that I want to take the chance on being stuck with a Lemon for the next 18 months.

I've been on 3 for years. Everytime my contract's up, I get to renew with another great deal. But I'm in the middle of my contract now and have just noticed that they're giving away £50 CREDIT with every new phone!

It's only until Thursday. But still that's 50 music tracks you could get.

I personally haven't had any problems with 3. I get good coverage, customer support have always been useful. And I've never had a problem with my bill or phones. Currently have a Sony Ericsson K800i which is a brilliant phone.

I've got good coverage usually whereve I go (including Wales where I spend some time)

My advice?: NEVER buy a phone from a dealer who does cashback deals. ALWAYS buy direct from the network. Three's deals at the moment ARE unbeatable, in my opinion...

    They're not as unbeatable as a 110% cashback deal (i.e. 100% and £35 to Quidco) I bet!
Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.

Well Mopho the Sony 610 is still in its box, thanks for your positive input, like most things, most of us are quick to complain about a product or service but the satisfied customers who outweigh the unsatisfied are generally silent as they don't have a complaint to voice. The price plan is brilliant, not forgetting £100 cashback via quidco on the half price line rental (£35 reduced to £17.50) and £50 credit plus a free handsfree, Think I've just talked myself into opening the box.......
  • Howdy, the majority of my friends seemed to have been converted to O2, however I am currently leaving them as they promise me one thing and deliver their own "O2-madeup-hundred" tarrifs when they feel like it.

I was looking at 'three' network as they seem to be quite competitive but it's hard to guage if they will be any good as a provider. There seems to be alot of refurbished handsets available which is a bit worrying! And after reading some of the posts here I would like to know what their coverage is like in the South, namely in Hampshire area please?

Is it a good thing to switch to them from O2 and take advantage of their offers and free MSN, etc? Or should I be looking towards the vodaphone's and orange's out there.

    Feedback appreciated :)

Update on my sage with Three where they billed me for a duplicate handset which I hadn't received in breach of their own terms and conditions after reporting them to OFCOM.

Three closed the duplicate account as soon as I gave them the OFCOM reference number.

However they decided to send me a letter stating I owed them £47 from their credit department.

Due to being fed up with their lack of customer service and the threatening behaviour from one of their advisers when I refused to take a duplicate handset, I have now sent Three a letter and email informing them that for every email I have to write to respond to them about this closed account I will charge them £7.50, every letter about this closed account will cost them £10. I will invoice them and when the costs reach £30 I will take them to court if they haven't paid it and add on costs.

They then phoned me and left messages so I informed them by email they should reply to me in writing due to their previous behaviour (which is well documented) and phoning me will cost them £5 if I answer. At the end of the email I informed them the email cost them £7.50. I have not heard from them since!!

And if they spoil my credit rating as soon as I find out I will ask for compensation and take them to court for the costs of putting it right.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

Hi all. Just coming to the end of a 12 month deal on 3 (with cashback through The Link). I've used the Nokia 6630 (refurbished) which has been a good handset although no front camera for video calls. I've been on Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone before, and 3 are probably the best overall for value and service. Compared with past experiences 3 service far exceeds that of Orange and I've not had a problem with coverage (around the south east mainly).

I was all for 3 network until today,
I waited in all day for a mobile phone to arrive,
    rang them at 4 pm
they said it could come up until 6pm
    rang them back at 6pm
they said it was delivered to your address and signed for,
    I said !!!!! !!!!!! !!!!!! no it wasn't,
    they said let me check,
then they said it was still in collections
    and would be delivered tomorrow,
well I am sorry but that isnt good enough,
to suggest that I had taken delivery of it,
but once I said what do I do now phone the police,
they seem to have got really bad in my opinion,
they used to be such a good company,
    they use parcel line apparently
    so say no more,
anyway I will let you all know if it turns up tomorrow,
